This by far was the BEST Trip of my life and one I will now remember forever..... It all started out.
Our trip began early Saturday the 4th we made it to the airport and boarded our flight on United in Albany, NY at 8am. We sat down and then waited and waited for about an hour. Turns out our planes battery was dead. After they replaced the battery we were on our way to Florida. We made our connecting flight barely. Since our 1st flight was an hour late United actually held our connecting flight for us for 20 minutes. When we got off the plane we heard our names over the airport intercom. Finally we land in Orlando at 3pm without our luggage, since we barely made the 2nd flight our luggage was scheduled to arrive at 5:20pm. United gave us $6 vouchers for lunch at the airport.
Since we had time we decided to get the rental car from National. I swear it was like a Sienfield episode. National had our reservations so we did all the paperwork and went to the parking garage to pick up our minivan. The man in the lot told us to wait in line a few feet away and a minivan would be pulled up and we were to get in and drive off. Well the line turned out to be about 25 people. And the wait was about 45 minutes. I also rented a booster seat and was told to pick it up over there, the main pointed to a corner of the parking garage and there sat a pile of carseats thrown in a pile in clear plastic bags. I must say I thought the car would pull up with the booster seat in place. I was really disappointed with the service from National. Once we got the car it was fine and returning the car was easy.
We spent 2 days in Port Orange with a friend of my fathers. On Monday we made our way back to Orlando and into the wonderful world of Walt Disney World. We checked into the Shades of Green Resort at 2pm and put all of our stuff in the hotel, and headed to the all star resort to check out the huge Buzz lightyear and woody statues. My son was a little skeptical of the size of the characters. He did like the little RC car you can sit in and we also found Herbie love bug. We headed back to the hotel, showered and headed to Chief Mickeys. They had Great Food there, the only thing I didnt like is that we saw Mickey go to all these tables we sat at one of the ends and several new people were seated next to use. Mickey came to all the tables before us then skipped our table and went to the next table who sat down only 10 minutes before. My mother said something to the man with Mickey and he was rather short and rude. All she said was will he be coming to our table soon. He did finally stop by so all in all it worked out. We did end up buying the pictures they took when we 1st came in. There was a little inside joke I was unaware of when my family decided to buy them.
Check it out and see if you can see it. I'll give you a hint Paul (my BF) to the right has his hand on my shoulder. check out one of his fingers.
Anyhow I saw these pics like 3 times and I never saw anything. Chief Mickey's is a busy place and I was concerned about taking more photos. Well after dinner we headed back to the hotel. We left my son in my parents room and Paul asked me to take a walk on the property of shades of green. We made our way to the Gazebo in the new section and there......... HE PROPOSED to me.... YEAHHHHHHHH we are getting married. He had the ring on his finger not a few hours before in the picture at chief Mickey's. He's so silly.
Oh Just a side note if you get a chance to go off site to eat we ate at PEBBLE it was GREAT food!
Tuesday we went to the animal kingdom where we saw Divine for the 1st time ever. I got a great shot of her
Right where she was hanging out between dino land and the Flaming tree we found this great nook to take a picture of the tree of life there was NO ONE there then finally someone came down too and they took our pic for us.
I took way to many pics to put in here so I picked the ones that would best fit the trip report I took 300 pics on 2 256 meg cards and I still had a spare extra 256 card.
Wednesday we went to the Magic Kingdom
Since my son is sensitive to sensory things he was overwhelmed. When we arrived we saw the show at the castle that was cool. My son didn't want to go on ANY rides I was a little disapointed. But some of us still saw the Philamagic show. We wondered around then watched the parade in Frontierland near numbers 15 & 16 there was some trees that had a type of wooden stage around it we set up shop there
We then went to Trails end for dinner That was nice. we took the boat there. That night we put my parents and my son on the bus back to SOG and Paul and I went on a carriage ride - Romantic we had wine and took the xmas light tour. Our driver was super nice. NOTE: Bring bug spray it's a week later and my bug bites still itch. The we ran to MGM by this time it was 7:30 I was unaware that MGM closed at 8. We ran to tower of terror and someone stopped us and gave us their fast pass tickets so we got on as soon as we arrived then we headed back to the hotel.
Thursday we went to MGM with my family. We ate lunch at pizza planet and Owen saw Buzz and woody but we didn't get his pic with them then since they where headed inside. Paul and I did Rock N Roller coaster that was SO FUN we did it 2x's I had my son's pass and my dads so we got 4 fast passes.
Here is a tip. I saw other people doing this. I had my digital camera out when we got off the ride and went straight to the monitors that have the ride pics and I took a pic with my digital camera.
That night we went to MVMCP. I wish I had taken the time to get matching santa hats or something. arrghhh. Even so the party was GREAT. That parade was so good saw the 1st one and then my dad wanted to stay and see the one at 11 too. My son did NOT enjoy the fireworks but everyone else did. I even had his head phones on.
I found it REALLY hard to take night pics with a digital camera but when you are able to hold the camera STILL and I mean really STILL you can get some great shots. I would take my tripod next time. it would have been worth it.
Well I'm going to end this report for now and will continue it soon. I waited a few days because I truely didn't want the whole trip to be over and doing a trip report sorta means that. We all decided we are going back in like 5 years. I LOVE disney....
Stay tuned for more...
