OMG-My Boyfriend Just Informed me that...

I think that your boyfriend might need to get off the weed.

If he's hallucinating, he should see a psychiatrist.

Do note that it's not as uncommon as you'd think.

Unfortunately my boyfriend doesn't drink or do drugs; sometimes I wish he did. He is the most reasonable and logical person I know.

But notwithstanding him, I've seen things, heard things and smelled thing as have other people

I should have added when I mentioned the cigar smoke, my son's worker ordered pizza over the summer and the delivery person said to her "Oh, this is Dina's house. We used to sit outside and smoke cigars with her husband":scared1: When the worker heard that she just about died because she has smelled the cigar smoke also!

My kids have no real idea what is going on, so I'd rather not tell them

:thumbsup2Try talking to the figure/Dina! Seriously. I know it sounds nuts, but maybe say something along the lines of "Hey, I know you're there. I'm so-and-so, and I don't mean you any harm." See if you get a response! OMG this is too cool. I lived in an apartment once with a "figure." I remember one afternoon, I was really late going back to work on my lunchbreak. I was absolutely frazzled and could NOT find my keys. I finally broke down and said, "Hey, I know you're here, can you please help me find my keys?" and what do you know, a minute later, my keys were laying on the table in the entryway.... where they were NOT before! It was really cool! I thanked him, and went back to work. :goodvibes

Or you could always call TAPS :thumbsup2

That is so freaky! But I love stuff like this!! I would definitely call TAPS!!!!

My first thought when I read this was that you need to trim your trees and put out a few rat traps. Most of the time when people see "shadows" crossing a room in the daytime it's caused by the movement of tree limbs outside the windows. Also, if you've got a mouse/rat, you can see that movement out of the corner of your eye.

You *seriously* are talking about spectral phenomena? :confused3

First - don't panic and freak out. It really is no big deal.

Unlike many of the new "paranormal" shows out there whatever is in your home is not "out to get you". Simply tell it to go to the light or to leave and more than likely it will.

I have lived all my life seeing shadows, having door I know I lock be unlock the next time I walk by. In my current home it is my constantly unlocked basement windows and my house is brand spanking new.

My dear sweet grandmother who died when I was three has never left my side. She loves to let me know she is there. When I have had enough of her unlocking things I tell her to stop and she will for a while. I also say hi to her when I see here just to make sure she knows she is welcome.

My son who is 10 is even more blessed than me because I only see shadows he actually sees ghosts. He for the record does not think it is a blessing. He has actually had us move his bed around so at night he can't see into the hall. He also told our little girl next door that if you close your door the ghosts stay in the hall and don't come in.....needless to say the mum was not impressed....lol.

I may sound like a nut. Don't worry people that know us think we are crazy until something happens while they are over or my son sees and describes a loved one they have lost in their own home.

Im old school....(as I place my hand up to cup the outside of my ear...)

WHO YA GONNA CALL....GHOST BUSTERS!
Thaz righ

Twilight zone jingle....dodo dodo dodo dodo:lmao:

I completely believe in ghosts op. :scared1: Don't know what I would do:laughing:

Honestly as long as you don't feel threatened, I'd just leave em be. It's entirely possible it's what's called a residual haunting, kind of like a tape being played over and over again. Since it seems you haven't had any interaction out of this spirit, a residual haunting makes sense to me. Can you set up a tape recorder or a video camera to try to catch anything?

Oh that's too cool!! I lived in a haunted house most of my young life. I definitely believe. :) I would so be on the phone with TAPS!!! I want them to go to my Dad's house but he refuses to believe, even tho he lives in the same house I had all my experiences in. :)

Ds17 was asking about "that guy" one day when he was about 3. I asked "what guy". He said "you know, that guy that sits in my room at night" :scared1::scared1::scared1:

We have had spirits in my house (which we had built in 1993). I believe it is my mom since it started right after she passed away.

When my DDs were young, one saw a woman in spotted pants on the stairs. The other was sitting on my lap on the sofa and asked "whose hand is that?" I asked what hand and she said the one on the arm of the sofa.

My sister, my niece and me have had our names called (separate times).

We have also been touched. There have been many other things.

I have 7 siblings and have told my mom she should go visit them. In the past few years it has mostly stopped. At first I was scared out of my wits.

Op it is ok if they are not harming you they are a great addition, one time a ghost got my mom's attention to take me to the hospital :goodvibes
I had a bad inner ear infection..

I SOOO believe ..I have so many things happen to me...however right now we live in a house that was built in the 40's or 50's something like that..anyway this house was my dh's ex grandparents house..I'll explain, dh was adopted by his step mom, her and his dad got divorced and she married someone else and than they got divorced about 7 years ago..dh's step dad is still in his life as his parents were until their death about 6 years ago...his step dad wanted to keep the house in the family and we were having a hard time with adjusting to child support and other things so he let us have the house :goodvibes

anyway they were heavy smokers and they were good people I really liked them ...now when we do anything to the house (remolding) you can smell the smoke and other things ...one particular thing I remember is that we had to clean the house before we moved in (all their things and clothes were here) step dad called looking for their wedding rings and couldn't seem to find them ..we told him we hadn't seen them and I was looking hard for them..well I seen a plastic old time face powder jar on the dresser and was going to throw it away, I distracted, again another day I was headed to throw it away and got distracted, again weeks later I was going to throw it away and got the trash can and a thought suddenly came to my mind to open it and there to my surprise was the wedding rings! now who puts wedding rings in an old puff powder jar??? I thought later that it had to be Mickey letting me that they were there and to look! Boy it took while to get that in my head LOL...

OP - Don't be too scared you would be surprised how unafraided you are when you really do see something.

I used to be so afraid of the paranormal until 2 years ago. My DH got a great job offer which was going to move us 2 hours away from all our friends and family. The housing market was horrible and it was winter so I didn't think we had a very good chance of selling our house. We put it on the market and got a call from our realtor the next day saying we had a showing that night. My DH was gone so I was rushing around trying to clean and stage our house. As I was putting away a picture of my DH's grandfather who died when he was 3 I thought please grandpa help us if you can as I don't want DH and I to have to live apart while this house sells. I then went into the bathroom and when I can out a couple of minutes later I saw a shadow standing in our bedroom doorway. I stopped and stared as he nodded at me. I blinked my eyes a couple of times and he was gone. Somehow I knew it was DH's grandpa. I couldn't believe how calm and unafraid I actually was. That night we had our showing and we had an offer the next morning. Our house never even made it to the MLS. :woohoo:

Okay, I'm sorry, maybe it's just the day I've been having so far.. but this just about made me pee my pants. :hippie:

Back OT, I vote that you call TAPS!

I have had a few relatives pass away. Closest to me would be my grandpa. Every now and then, our printer will reboot (mind you, it is turned off:scared1: ) . Even in the middle of the night, I'll hear the stupid thing. Laying in bed I have felt like someone sat at the foot of my bed. I have felt that a few times.

We have had artificial flowers sitting in a vase on the back of one of the toilets, fall into the toilet for no reason.:confused3 Dh just used the bathroom, came out and the flowers fell in the toilet:rotfl: (I think it was my deceased mil because I always felt bad that I wasn't worthy of any flowers from my inlaws after I had each baby (had 5). She even made the comment,"I was going to get you flowers, but...." and that was it:confused3 But what? I took, my artificial flowers taking a dip in the toilet, was my mil doing.:lmao:
Also, I don't do dh laundry. He does his own, I have 6 other people to worry about. I once wouldn't fold his laundry right in front of his mom and she didn't like that. Well, one day after she died (about 3 months) his dirty clothes basket appears in the kitchen. I DID NOT PUT THAT THERE AND dd3 WAS ASLEEP! We were the only ones home. :scared1: I would never put a laundry basket in the kitchen! That was spooky:eek:

See, in addition to loving animals normally anyway, this is why I'll always have at least 1 pet (dog or cat.) I see them as my little ghost detectors.

When my son was little (as in a baby) and we'd be sitting on the living room sofa he would sometimes jerk his head suddenly past where he was looking and stare into the dining room (I have a pciture of my deceased father hanging in that room but you cant see it from the living room ). He'd always stare and stare and you couldnt get him to look away. As he got older he'd stare and then start to smile and giggle (my dad aways made faces at babies to make then laugh). Finally, when he got to the age he could talk he walked by my dad's picture one day and started to giggle. I asked why he was laughing and he said "granddad makes the funnniest faces!" (he's not making a face in that picture). When my second son was born we had moved to a new house and hung the picture in the living room - was hoping to avoid having the "look honey, the baby is staring into the dining room again" problem - he can just stare at the picture all he wants.

OP - creepy and good luck w/ that!!
