Yeah, it wasn't quite as bad as I thought, but 44 is an absolute mess and they've done nothing to the streets downtown at all! Most all of 44 is snow-covered, so people were kind of guessing where the lanes were, and of course some were flying along and some were going 10 mph. Snow driving is always interesting around here!

I'm north of you(about 40 miles) on 55 and we didn't get quite as much snow, but it's still a mess on the roads

I was loving the snow, too...

Until tonight it started raining.

The roads are solid sheets of ice.

DH walked the Shih-Tzu earlier and could barely manage it. They were both sliding everywhere.

I am so damned jealous of anyone who has so little of it that they get excited when the snow falls.

Even the weather guy said, "I know you all have had it up to here with snow...who isn't...but there will be more." He even did the "up to here" thing with his hand. And he wasn't all chipper like TV people are. He was just plain old sick of it, too.

It's so cold here. And grey. And the snow just won't stop. Depressing as crap.

But, enjoy! I'm happy that you all are happy!

The past few days I've actually seen the sun and I couldn't see where I was driving, it was so bad. But it melted some of the snow! And now it's starting again

I think we need to start a support group

Yep, gotta love Maryland....school cancelled for around an inch of snow. There's freezing rain now, so tomorrow will likely delay or even cancel, depending on when the temps warm and it turns to rain.

Much as I can't afford a day off of work, I'm kind of hoping for a self-declared snow day tomorrow. Getting up 3 hours before I had to be in today to make sure I got there in time was NOT FUN. My normal commute is about half an hour (West St. Louis County to downtown, basically across the street from Busch), but the roads were ridiculous.

Just opened the blinds and was shocked at how much has fallen. You could see the street in my apartment complex about an hour and a half ago...not so much anymore.

Just before I took this, I watched someone slip and slide almost into the stop sign toward the middle of the photo, and that's toward the bottom of a monster hill I'd need to negotiate to get out in the morning. I'm on the 3rd floor of my building and the hill, by the time it hits the front of the complex, is probably close to level with my apt. Hmm...we'll see what happens, I guess.

Oof, they're saying it's going to keep it up until about 2-3 am. 13 degrees at 8 am. Yeah, it's sounding like a good morning to stay in bed.

Around here (WI) we don't blink at a snowstorm either, but ice does give me pause.

I had the good luck to be able to visit a friend near Baltimore MD in October. What a beautiful state!!! I had a super time & someday would like to visit again.

However, I've never seen so many hilly roads/winding roads/hairpin turn roads in my life! I thought Wisconsin had hills.... Doesn't compare to Maryland. Geeze, you can't even see what's around the curve ahead of you with the fields planted almost to the pavement! The roads seem to be so darn narrow I sometimes shut my eyes so I couldn't watch. Because my daughter doesn't like me screaming when she drives, I figured my friends might not like it either so closed eyes was a good choice.

But, oh my gosh, how absolutely beautiful in the fall with the setting sun lighting fire on the trees. Breathtaking! WI is also beautiful that way in the fall but I'll take my roads over yours in a heartbeat!

My kids are not happy right now they both still have school! I think I know the apartments you have in the picture. A friend lived in them a while back. That is a big hill!

Well, I made it in to work, but barely. 44 was an absolute zoo. I brought my camera with me and took some pictures...it was a total free-for-all out there, with almost no pavement visible the bulk of the way in. People were totally guessing where the lanes were supposed to be, so I had people merging on top of me, drifting over into my lane, etc. Good times. Or not.

This snow is ridiculous. It just won't stop. There is too much of it.

I'm sooooooo sick of this.

I'm seriously going to talk to DH about moving somewhere warm. We can always fly home for visits.

I know it is fun for people who get it occasionally to marvel at it and all. But when you have to deal with feet of snow, plus ice and cold and grey skies...all winter, every winter...it takes a toll. It wears you down. You get just so tired of it. Well, I do, anyway.

It doesn't have to be Orlando. It could be almost anywhere South. Even places that get a few inches now and then. But as long as we're going, might as well go where it is warm and there are 8 theme parks nearby, right?

I've got to get out of this. Each year, I hate it more. Can't take too many more winters.

I am sorry Cool Beans. It can be depressing! Would a weekend at Disney make it bearable? There are some good deals right now!

OK glad you made it in! DH did too. Lucky for me my school and both kids schools were off today. I am so happy to be inside with no where to go!
