1) I think this thread should be moved to the Trades and Wishes sub-forum, because you are talking about either trading it or fulfilling a wish.
Actually, I'm asking for opinions and suggestions about possible ways to pick someone to trade with and how to be fair about doing that.
Someone has suggested a quest which is a great idea but I don't want to open the search to everyone in VMK and I don't want to limit the quest to allow only people on my friends list.
I still would like to hear some other ideas to help me choose the lucky person!

2) I think you should trade it, but if you are going to do the hat thing, please put my name in
My thought so far is to put names in a hat and give the first person whose name I pull out a chance to trade with me or perhaps be gifted the pin. The terms would depend on the circumstances. For example, I'm not going to clean out a kid's inventory. There are at least five people I would love to gift this pin to but I'm too wishy washy to choose a "favorite". I do realize this is a valuable item but honestly, I got it for free while doing something purely for fun. Of course, I will gladly include your name if I do the hat thing!

3) Was wondering, did you win that quest on the first go-round, or did you "mule" it first to get faster? I wondered because I tried one of those quests and finished like 367th.
A little of both. I started the quest with the character I happened to be using when the quest opened but got dc'd twice plus VMK shut down part way, maybe about half way, through my attempt at the quest so I gave up. When VMK came back, I logged in as qruthie, my main character, and started the quest over again. I honestly believed I didn't have a chance of winning ANY of the prizes. My time wasn't that great (or so I thought) and I wasn't trying to win a specific prize. I just enjoy doing the quests! I would do the quests even if no prizes were given out.
I'm getting very different placements on the various quests. I seem to win a small prize about half the times I play (50 credits, a coffin seat) or I come in something like 200th place, not even close to winning a prize. I can't imagine ever getting in the top five on any quest. I'm just not that fast!
Some things that may be increasing my chances of better times: I'm usually good at lateral thinking types of puzzles; my memory is pretty much photographic; I do a lot of clue type puzzles like crosswords and logic problems; I have studied symbolic logic and I have a degree in computer science. I think that qualifies me as a puzzle solving geek!

I forgot to say that I'm good at the fireworks, jungle cruise and haunted mansion games. I'm pretty good at faking my way through the pirates game.
