We realize photography is a deeply personal choice – after all, your photos are your lasting memories. Thank you! I'm going to start checking these out. I really wanted to possibly get video too but Disney's cost I felt was astronomical. We are going to start looking at other options. We'll make a decision late october. I am getting married on a Monday in February so I dont think hiring someone 3-4 months out will be a huge mess if we decide to drop Disney photography.

We were disappointed when we found out that when we booked our Jan 2014 DFTW we couldn't use the Roots for our DP at Epcot. I really didn't want a different person taking the pics at the end of the night after having the Roots all day.

We are really excited that the rules changed and already added the extra hours onto our package with Root Photography.

Does anyone know if this means you still have to forfeit the disney photography in your package if you have an outside photographer?.
We're having an escape wedding and we're thinking of having randy chapman (we're meeting him this week) for the ceremony then using our disney photography for our DP. But can we now ask randy to do it all but have disney as a second photographer?
I'm only asking as we want the MK shoot and I thought you had to use disney photography for the wedding to have this?

No. Disney no longer sends the photographer included with its Escape package as a second shooter (even if you've swapped the ceremony photography for dessert party photography). However, you do not have to be using Disney Photography in order to book the Magic Kingdom bridal portrait session. They just let you book it *sooner* if you use Disney's photography.

So, can you use outside photographers for the photo shoots that happen before the park opens? Or is this only for events that are occurring park hours?
