Yes you have to pay for a guide to escort your photographer. I have read it is $95 for 4 hours but there was some confusion about that definitely being the final price

Just to clarify, my response was about the ability to book the Magic Kingdom portrait session when you're using an outside photographer for your wedding. You still have to use Disney Photography for the in-park bridal portrait sessions like the one in the Magic Kingdom. You just don't have to use them for wedding-related events (ceremony, reception, dessert party).

Based on this, if I were to have a Memories wedding I could forfeit my Disney photographer, hire an outside photographer for the ceremony and I can still use the outside photographer if I get bridal portrait sessions at the parks?

Not quite. You can forfeit the Disney photographer for the ceremony and use an outside photographer but my understanding is you still have to use Disney photography services for park photo sessions. However, if you do decide to use an outside photographer for your ceremony you can only book an in park photo session 45 days in advance. If you use Disney photographers for your ceremony you can book the in park photo session earlier but I'm not sure how far in advance you can book it.

For Wishes wedding that use Disney Photography, you are allowed to book your MK portrait session as soon as your contract is signed. It seems, though, that Escape and Memories brides have been able to book their MK portrait sessions within the same time frame, even if they are giving up the photography that comes with their package to use an outside photographer. Perhaps Disney cuts them a break because they're still paying for wedding photography they won't use?
