OMG - had pin code in my file!

I have been reading so many people's emails regarding receiving post cards and emails from Disney with discounts for stays in offseason but I never received one. I had planned on going mid November and rented DVC points but needed a room for the drive up day. I kept waiting for codes to come out and of course I am in the black out days so I decided to call Disney anyway to figure out what my cost would be for one night at value or moderate.

Constance (CM) who answered was so very happy, thoughtful and kind, checked under my name and stated that I had been offered a postcard (even though I never received one). She really made my day and made me laugh - true Disney personality at heart.

Anyway, she checked to see if PORS or FQ had any rooms left for my discounted pin and those rooms were booked up (I really was just going to go shopping at DTD and see Bob Jackson that night which is why I wanted to stay there). I asked for CSR and got a room for $79 ($88 with tax) and requested the Ranchos section as I can't wait to jump in the pool and walk around the resort. Either way I am soooooo happy.

I had an e-mail code from Disney that I didn't know about either. After seeing people post about it on these boards, I decided to check an old e-mail account and voila! there was a code. The CM was great about applying it to my ressie!

yecats- the same thing happened to me!
I called out of curiousity to get a rate for the WL. The CM said, oh I see you received a postcard for a special rate and was quoted $917 (including tax) for courtyard for a 6 night stay. That was a nice surprise.

Sounds like this must be fairly common. We too had the same thing happen. I never received a postcard, but when I called, the postcard offer showed up in my file and the CM offered it to me. She said because the pin code was already in my file, it didn't matter if I had the actual postcard or not. What a nice surprise!

Thanks for your response, I just wanted to share my happiness. I was really and truly surprised when I called and found that out. I don't understand why I never received the postcard but am glad to hear I had an offer anyway. Now to finish my dining ps's.

To WDWSuperfan - that is truly a great rate for 6 nights at WL, what a wonderful vacation your going to have.
