OMG. Disney Has Reached New Lows

I think being able to book 7 days worth of fast passes a month ahead of time is just fine. Goodness, it's 6 days more than we used to get with the old paper tickets, and it seems to me like it's more fair because if it were more than that then there probably wouldn't be any left because they would be hoarded up. Besides its not like we won't get to ride anything if we don't have fast passes anyway. We're big fans of the Carousel of Progress, we could ride that over and over and there's never a line for it anyway. Especially in the summer time when it's hot or raining or both.

I agree with some of your take and disagree with some.
By your reasoning, if the 8 day ticket holder deserves an advantage over the AP because they're paying more per day, then perhaps we should let single day ticket holders book 90 days out ... Since they're paying way more than anyone else.
I don't think AP's should have an extra advantage, by I don't think they should get less than the next guy ....

I don't really look at it in terms of what one "deserves" over another. It's more of is what they do reasonable or not and I think it is. It could be more generous, but it's not horrible either. But in terms of paying more vs getting more- the single day ticket probably nets Disney the least profit of all tickets. The guest is there for a single day.

The OP's issue doesn't happen often. It doesn't justify the drain on the system of increasing the booking for APs to more days. I'm guessing the problem lies mostly with local AP's being able to book just in case fp+'s.

And honestly, I don't see a lot of AP holders on this thread complaining. We seem to be, for the most part, satisfied with the terms we have.

Well, I'll stand by my thinking that an AP guests should have as much as a guest with a 10 day pass. It doesn't affect me because of the way I vacation, but I think it's the only fair way to do it.

I can't see them doing that. There are many years when I think about going to Universal or Busch Gardens .... And then I remind myself that my admission to WDW is already paid for. So they get us and our money for meals, drinks, tours, souvenirs.
If they get rid of the AP, I would get one 7 day ticket and do something else with the other two weeks of vacation time. They'd lose quite a bit of money from me and I imagine many others. And locals would severely restrict their visits - Disney doesn't want that, they want the locals there spending money, that's why they offer a Florida resident discount.

agreed. with APs we are much more likely to head to disney versus another destination when our son has a school break or we just want to get away. last year we took two or three very last minute trips because we had aps and wanted to get away. on all those trips we stayed on site, ate on site and bought souvenirs. I don't think they will do away with APs.
