I'm feeling a little dizzy, and I think there's actually smoke coming from my Visa card :lmao:

Here's hoping (and praying) for an awesome DING to come along........

Congrads sounds like a good price for that time of the year!:thumbsup2

I just coughed up $400 from Providence in early December. I'm still in shock.

I can make you feel better, since I just paid $398 for the same trip! Those were the best fares available for my dates, unless I wanted to give up a day by flying down on Saturday night instead of Saturday morning. Wasn't worth the $50 bucks per ticket to me. (But I won't mention that to DH... I'm not sure he'd agree!) OUCH!!! It will take me a while to recover from this one. $1,600 on airfare is painful!!!

don feel too bad, $398/RT Phl-Mco.........................:furious:

That was one of the main reason's we moved from going out of PHL (which is less than an hour drive for us) to BWI for our upcoming Disney trip.
With 7 of us going we were able to get $189 p/p nonstop on Airtran including seats assignments and taxes. Well worth the 2 hour drive to BWI and paying for the extra gas to get from Phl to BWI

I just paid $5,500 for 12 people to fly roundtrip from Nov 15 - Nov 25. This same trip last year cost $2,055 on SW. Group booking would have only saved $20 per person round trip and Ding's would not apply to the fare. I knew there would be a substantial increase but this is insane. Hoping for many Ding's:worried:

Some would be thrilled with that! My sis just booked RT /BOS to MCO...$529pp

Myself, DW,& DD booked flights R/t with Spirit ACY-MCO for 79.00 each way
 for next week 7/10--7/14 " way to go Spirit":worship: we only booked the flight last Tues !!

That's a great fare. SW is still a bit better, though, from PHL. Right now they're showing $79 down and $64 back, both nonstops...and they don't charge for checked bags.

It really has to do with your dates and time of day. What's good on SW one day may not be on another; that's why it pays to check multiple carriers to get YOUR best deal.

We got $358 RT for TG week, PHL-MCO. I was actually able to snag $64 down but got stuck paying $235 to return. This is for the Sat. after TG so I expected it to be high.
Still good to know we can each bring 2 bags, sit where we want, get a free drink and snack, no change fees and they won't change or cancel our flight!! :thumbsup2
I still LUV SWA! :lovestruc

I'm right there with ya... I got $329 RT and a smoking Visa card, too! :rotfl2:

Paid 358pp from Phil to MCO. I was hoping for better. At least they are non-stop and at good times. I have never flown SW before( usually fly Airtran) so don't laugh when I ask this question. What is a Ding??:confused3

DING is a program you install off of Southwest's website. It installs a little icon in the right hand corner next to the clock and when they release lower (kinda like a clearance sale) airefare your computer will ding at you and an envelope will shop up on that icon.
They're very time specific and expire within a few hours but they're how I've travelled for years! I go where the bargain is!

Thank You!:)

Another question--- If a better price comes out for my flight with a ding can I get it? I know -a better price :rotfl2: :lmao:

I must say I am not surprised that the SW fares are what they are. My august fares were 300+ when they first came out so I waited and they came down to 150 at 2 months out. I am expecting the fares to rise 10-30 each way because of fuel. At least I do not have to spend an hour researching all the extra add on fees like the other airlines.

I must admit I am not surpised either. I knew the fares would be much, much higher than any previous fare I've paid for. It just hurts more this time :headache:

Anyway, I'm just glad to be going to WDW. With the way airfare is rising, it may be my last trip.

We bought a one way down from Philly on Southwest on 10/30...$79 and one way back on 11/7 AirTran for $99...given the latest roundtrip price horror stories I think I made a pretty good call..I wanted to go SW both ways, but they were too much..plus I get the Resort Check In bonus on my return on Airtran..all told, I'm happy:cool1:

Wow, I was complaining about my flight from ONT to MCO. I (finally) booked our trip on Delta and it's $318 RT ($360 w/fees) which looks pretty good looking at what you are all paying considering I'm coming from California. Delta has the best fare I could get. SW was way over $400. I actually like Delta better since I can pick our seats :goodvibes

I just checked and last year we paid $256.51 RT and in 2006 paid $258.10 RT (all on Delta) So this difference from last year to this year is an increase of 40%. Yikes!:scared1: Well, at least I get our first checked bags for free!
