Anybody use these? So, do you actually save money by buying through them. If not, is the food that good that you don't mind?

Thanks for your help!

I haven't ordered through A La Zing, but have quite a few times through Omaha Steaks.
The only way you can justify buying from them being a good deal is if you replace meals that you would have gone out for with what you purchase from them. You can get awesome steaks for $50, fix them at home with all the sides and a bottle of wine for a total of $75 or more OR go out and spend at least double that at a fancy steak house.
I usually get their Vntage Filet Mignon, which is great. I also buy their frozen bernaise sauce. Another favorite is their top sirloin. Sometimes you can get a couple of these free or it will be part of a special offer. I primarily cube these and use in a very good stew. They are good steaks, in and of themselves, though.
The problem with Omaha Steaks, IMO, is the telemarketing. They call about every month. And it is always a very kind elderly person that I can't just hang up on. Sometimes I order and sometimes I don't.
Items I have ordered that I thought were a waste: skinless, boneless chicken breasts (just get thses at your supermarket), IMO and the twice baked potatoes (something like that). Frozen vegetables were also not that great, again JMHO. I got a free key lime cheesecake once and it was good, but small and I would never pay the price they normally charge.
Items I was surprised by: battered cod filets. DH about hit the roof when he learned I bought "fish sticks" from Omaha Steaks. :rotfl: But, changed his mind when he tasted them. They melt in your mouth. We also bought a seafood steak sampler:salmon, tuna steaks, swordfish and something else. Very good.
We are completely spoiled with the burgers, too. We don't eat hamburgers often, so it is a nice treat for us.
Once again,JMHO--if they are ever giving away freebies with orders--always take the meat instead of the knives or cutting boards or whatever. That stuff is junk. If that is what is offered, ask if you can swap for free burgers.
I have also found when dealing with thier telemarketers that you can sometimes negotiate a bit with them either for a better deal or free items.
Delivery is always on time and everything has remained frozen.
Their after sale service is excellent. Over the course of several years, I have had a couple of problems and they have been very willing to provide replacement or refund without any hassle.
