Olympus OM-D EM-5 (Mirrorless)

Can anyone offer advice on picking one lens - Oly 45mm OR Oly 40-150mm - before my Sept. trip? From the pics I've seen, the 45mm is the lens to have, but I worry it will be too restrictive inside the parks. And, I think away from Disney it will be my lens of choice. I understand that with a prime, my feet are my zoom, but the further I move back, the more likely I'll have crowd traffic moving between me and my subject(s).

Thanks in advance.

Have: e-pl2 + 14-42mm II + Pany 20mm

I would take all your lenses. The 20mm and 14-42mm weigh next to nothing and give you wider options than just a 45mm or 40-150mm.

If you want to buy a new lens for Disney, I'd get the 40-150mm (in addition to taking both of your other lenses). That would give you extra reach if needed. You can find that lens for $150 and it is a very good lens. The 45mm is a spectacular lens and worth every penny. It's one of my favorites and I generally like to have a zoom.

I have a few of these Domke wraps, http://www.adorama.com/DMF34RRB.html which I wrap around the lenses and throw into my bag so I don't need a separate camera bag.

Enjoy your trip!

I would never just bring one. m4/3's lenses are featherweight compared to my previous Canon lenses and I can squeeze most of them into a bag half the size of my Canon bag.
Bring the 20 and 14-42. If you have one, the 40-150 or panny 45-200 are also great choices. They don't add much weight and don't take up much space either.

Any other pics from those who have the E-M5? Everyone see the new rebates??????

Here are a few of our new puppy Lucy.:) I was trying out some different lenses on my OM-D with her.

These were taken with the Panny 20mm.

This one was with the 45mm.

And here's the 9-18mm at 9mm just for fun. Maybe I should have focused on her nose with this one instead of the eyes. What do you all think?

I saw the rebates. I will eventually get the 75-300mm but right now the rebate on it is only with the purchase of the OM-D. There are some refurbished ones out there so I'll buy one of those or a used one. That would be a better price than a $150 rebate. Right now I'm just putting away a bit from every paycheck for it.

Then I'll just be waiting for the m.4/3 version of the 12-60mm. Hope they're working on it.

Just bought the OM-D and love the photos it takes, although it's taking me a while to get used to the menus! And I really don't like the position of the playback button, but I'll put up with it for everything else. My husband has now inherited my Canon 500D DSLR! :rotfl2:

I have the 45mm, as well as the 20mm and 40-150mm, and the 45mm was hardly off my camera, it's a stunning lens, I won't be without it. I'll post a few pics when I'm on the right PC.

I will agree about the playback button. Love mine too.
