Got a quote of $5,500.My neighbor just got them a few months ago he is 51. Always was bothered by crowded lower teeth. I think he only has 8 or 9 months total for his treatment. I see a big difference and he wishes he did it sooner. He was going to do it about 10 years ago, but kept putting it off for one reason or another. He said it's not too painful and just gently moves teeth. Not sure how much he paid, but what prices did you get?
Did the dentist say how it would help to avoid root canals? My are still being made. Should be done in the next 2 weeks.
I wanted them before but now I was told I needed them to realign my teeth or I would need a root canal and a lot of work within the next couple of years.
I am 69...can't wait for them to come in
Check out SmileDirect as well. Dentists don't like to recommend them because they don't make any money from them. I did it and was very happy with the results and the customer service I received, and it was about $1900, my insurance paid for $895 (I had to pay in full up front and then submit to my insurance, SmileDirect would not do it - though they did do the appropriate paperwork for my insurance). You are assigned a dentist when going this direction. They do have some locations where you can go for a scan to create the aligners, or you can do an impression kit. My dentist was happy with my results, I have regularly scheduled appointments so he could check my teeth, too.Got a quote of $5,500.
Appreciate the feedback!
Such a big expense but leaning toward doing it.
And I forgot to mention, when you are done with your treatment plan and if you are not satisfied with the results, you can request additional aligners. They will ask you to send pictures of your teeth and you may need to do a scan or impressions again, but they will send you additional ones. Once complete, you will need to wear retainers at night so your teeth don't move back. It's amazing how quickly they can move back!Check out SmileDirect as well. It will straighten the teeth so they are not hitting wrong.Did the dentist say how it would help to avoid root canals?
One of my neighbors is 74 and just starting her aligners.
She was the one who inspired me to get a consult.
I just finished 18 months and so happy I did it!I just finished 1 3/4 years of aligners. Wearing a retainer 24/7 now for 3 months and then just retainer at night.
Everything looks great.
I am 70 (will be 71 on Saturday). Teeth are straight, bite and alignment are fixed.
My daughter told me they only told her to wear the retainers at night.....so no idea which is right.I just finished 18 months and so happy I did it!
Interesting that I was told to just wear the retainers 12 hours a day upon completing the aligners.
So far, so good but I keep hearing people say that they were told to wear them 24.7 for 3 months!
