There have been many questions about using old tickets, exhanging them for new passes and the thought of just keeping them as nice souviniers. Herein lies our story. Last year on 9/11/02 we turned in two tickets circa 1985 or 1986. They were 3 day passes with 2 days already used. We asked if we could trade them for a pass to the MK. The guy at the ticket counter said "No, you have to trade them for a 3 day Park Hopper Pass with 2 days aleady used." We then asked if we could keep our tickets for souvineirs and he said No, but he would attach a note asking that they be returned to our address. We got our 1 day Park Hopper Pass and visited MK and MGM having a ball. We waited for months and never got our old tickets though. We then forgot about them as old folks do. We then opened our mailbox last week and found an envelope from WDW with our old tickets inside. Almost 10 months to the day but there they were. Mickey came through again. They will look great in my wife's scrapbook of that trip.
Oh yeah, in case you are wondering why we were there for one day. We were killing some time before boarding the Magic for our Western cruise.

Just wanted to share a good experiance.

My grandma used her 1985 pass with one day left to go to Epcot last year. They used to stamp on the dates back then. She didn't want to exchange it for a new one so she went to the turnstile and they stamped it for her. She was so proud of her pass that showed July 18, 1985 and July 23, 2002. :D

Just to add info, we did the same thing last month. The passes we used were from 1987 and 1989, children's passes, for my DSs. Now they are 20 and 23 yo, and the shorter one is 5'10". No questions asked at the gate at Epcot, a little hesitation at MK.

Russ,
Thanks for sharing such a nice story. I agree, they will look great in the scrapbook. :)

Nice happy ending....

One of the things on my "to do" list one of the times I visit my parents is look for the partly un-used WDW ticket booklet that I brought back from my first trip from around 1977.
