I know this has been asked before but Ive always seen varying answers. I was wondering if anyone who has had this situation recently could tell me exactly how it was handled.

My parents have 2 old hopper tickets from 1990. Each of them has 1 unused day on it. My questions are...

1, Can they be upgraded for current hopper tickets and still keep the 1 day without an added charge? If there is a charge, approximately how much is it?

2, Can this be done at guest services at a resort or does it need to be done at a park?

3, Ive read something about AK since that wasnt open back then. They dont want to use that hopper day at AK so would that still affect the upgrade procedure?

Any other info on these upgrades would be appreciated too. Thanks!

Hi CamColt -

My sister and I went a few years ago, and she had a ticket from either 88 or 89 that had 1 day left over. We had to go to Guest Services (at MK) and turn in that one to get the new one. They have a way of verifying the number of days left on the old card, then they issue you a new ticket with the same number of days.

The ticket my sister had was originally a park hopper pass, so what she got then was also a park hopper pass. Even tho, all the parks were not even around, it was now good for all parks.

I don't know if you can do this at the hotels or not. You may want to call the hotel you have ressies at, and see what they say.

Hope this helps!

A (or two) replacement ticket(s) can only be done at Guest Services at a Park.

At one time, if you had a Hopper pass that was purchased before a new Park opened, you could not access that Park with your Hopper, but that block has since been lifted.

You may be able to exchange the old tickets for New tickets at Guest Services at Downtown Disney, but I'm not 100 percent positive on that.

Hope this helps. :mickeybar

Thanks for the info. You both made it sound simple. All the different info Ive heard about upgrading had me confused. :D

Yes they can.

Guest Services cannot do this. It can only be done by Guest Relations at the Parks or at the two GR locations at DTD.

Nope, doesn't affect it at all. The ticket they will get back will allow them entry in AK if they wish to go. If they don't, it doesn't matter because the exchange procedure is still the same.
