I subscribe to Disney Food Blog and got an email today and it was in it as I posted earlier. It was also on their blog and I posted the link. With that said, I came here to see if anyone here knows if it is, in fact, true. I had not heard anything about it before the email.

So can anyone confirm or deny this? I really don't want to be spreading untruths . . . :sad1:

Check my post again. I posted link to page I saw it on. I subscribe to their emails and saw it in today's email info

This was list actually listed in their email:

Disney Restaurant Closures:

Let's take a glance at upcoming restaurant closures so there won't be uninformed disappointments when you go to make your Dining Reservations.

April 2 - August 24: Grand Floridian Beach Pool Bar
July 1 - October 31: Bistro de Paris
July 8 - 21: Narcoossee's
July 9 - August 6: Cape May Cafe
July 23 - August 4: Citricos
August 8 - TBD: Hurricane Hanna's
August 24 - December: Gasparilla Grill
August 27- Sept 14: Yachtsman Steakhouse
January 6 - late summer 2013: California Grill

This makes me very sad! I was looking forward to getting the boys the cute kids meal with bucket/pail. Plus, it is another great option for counter service. :-(

I am in my room at the Beach club right now and when my stomach settles Dow it's off to Beaches and cream for dinner.

Hi scottmel. I am heading to southern CA and DL/DCA next week! I will probably do a write up (not a full trip report as I admit I am too lazy to do that...haha). We are visiting my brother-in-law and family. We plan on heading to Huntington Beach (he used to live there) for a day or so and to Newport (probably for a sunset cruise).

Kerry, have a great trip! So glad you'll stop in Newport during your visit! Please let me know if you return with any photos to add to the Newport thread. :)

Just dropping in to say that we booked BC for our April 2013 trip!!! We'll be there 4/20-4/28. Very excited to try BC for the first time! :cool1:

Welcome, Mousemommy!!! If you decided against the cruise (yes, those policies can be daunting - we purchased the trip insurance, but only for Alaska) then BC is a great choice! So excited that you decided to try it! :)

Thanks!! The limo comes at 5:45 tomorrow morning, and we're all aquiver with excitement!!

Alice, have a wonderful trip!!!

We were able to book with a 15% discount (AAA), but I'm hoping for an extension of the military discount or at least a decent AP discount!!

We just returned from a 10 night stay WL CL which was wonderful! Now, counting down to our next stay!!! :cheer2:

You'll love the BC. We just returned from our first stay at BCV and we feel in  with the resort. We can't wait to return.

We visited BC and spent some time there last week (along with the Poly, CR and GF)...because we wanted to see if we'd be interested in any of them...BC is the only other one we wanted to stay at besides WL (which was awesome)

We're excited!! :cool1:

Hopefully Teena will see this and fill us in. I am hoping it's not true.

If you are talking about all the rehab at the restaurants at the Y&B, yep, its happening. But when Hurricane Hannah is closed, there is going to be food offering similar (quick service stuff) provided near the pool at various places including Ariel's. I don't anticipate any kind of problems with what I saw that they are providing as alternatives when HH is down.

As far as all the other restaurants, I know the biggest rehab that I heard was California Grill. That is going to be major ... down almost half a year.

In an "emergency" like this I will remind everyone to RUN over to France with their refillable mugs and get some Grey Goose slushies (GGS) to take back to the pool. The more refillable mugs you take, the more GGS you can get. Remember all those refillable mugs from all those past trips you took? Well toss 'em in the suitcase and bring them for your GGS run. If you have enough of them you may very well resemble one of those bar maids from Epcot's Germany.

Of course the down side to this is that as soon as you hit the pool the other people there will start waving large bills at you in an effort to expedite pool side service. If you supplement your income by selling one extra GGS per day you will more than cover the expense of that upgrade to a Garden View Room. ;)

Think of this rehab situation not as a loss but as an economic opportunity! :thumbsup2

PS. Florida has "No Open containers of alcohol" laws so they will not let you out of the parks carrying an 'obvious' alcoholic beverage, hence the need to pour the beverage in a container that would not reveal it's true contents.

Thanks Teena :) I'm glad food will still be available somewhere near the pool. I'm hoping the same goes for adult beverages?

You are hilarious!!! :lmao: How did you know I saved all my previous mugs??? Now I will need an extra carry-on so I can bring them all!! :rotfl2: How much should I up-charge those thirsty pool folks??? ;)

I'd go double price since you are delivering the goods. If you wore a dirndl you'd probably do very well with tips so that might even cover the added expense of club level!

I might actually end up MAKING money on this trip! ;) :rotfl:

Beaches and Cream at YC/BC sells burgers. Its a pretty neat old diner theme. As far as Yacht Club coffee mugs, you should be able to find those at the Yacht Club's gift shop Fittings and Fairings. I know I saw Yacht Club water bottles and I think I saw coffee mugs too.

YAY!! I couldn't find a tee shirt, hat, fridge magnet or anything that said YC or BC last year. Thanks.

Both Beaches and Cream and Hurricane Hannah's have fantastic burgers.

As for BC/YC merchandise I got a frig magnet and a windbreaker there last week with the BC logo. They also had polo shirts, t shirts and luggage tags. Might have more but that's what I remember.

YAY for the Tee Shirts! I hope that they have mugs as well. I'm glad to hear that Hurricane Hannah's has burgers. We wanted to come back to the resort to swim and have lunch and Burgers are our afternoon swim traditional meal. :goodvibes We are on the DP so we were looking for a counter service burger. I'm getting really excited!

Do we have pictures of the YC/BC tee shirts? I'd like to see them. :goodvibes

I see you're going in 2 weeks. Hurricane Hannah's might still be closed. It is set for refurbishment starting next week. Teena said there will be other food options available while it is closed. Beaches n Cream is a great place for burgers too. :)

Any idea how long it will be closed? I'm so bummed, but will be happy if they still have waitress service. What are they doing to it? Anyone know? :confused3

Surely they will have waitresses. I'm guessing they will go inside to Ariel's or down to the crews cup to get the drinks. I think those are the two closest bars. I hope we don't have to go ourselves because that would require leaving SAB each time. :(
