OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Just booked BC for January!! But I have a question ... If I want to get go to Epcot (Future World) first thing in the morning, how do I get there? Can you walk through World Showcase? If not, is there a bus? Thanks. =)

Only other choice is front of resort over walkway...I much prefer gazebo...there are 4 facing that ....
Thanks so much. I'll keep my request for "gazebo view" then.

Do you happen to know if any of the gazebo view rooms DON'T have a connecting door? Back in 2010, I made the same request (no connecting door, gazebo view) and while we didn't have a connecting door, we overlooked SAB. I think they may have upgraded us (we were in room 5199), which was very nice of them, except, we don't want to be overlooking SAB again.

You enter through the international gateway and can walk to future world. There is no transportation to the front of the park.

Well it looks like the planning stages for our 2013 trip are under way:cool1:

Trying to decide if upgrading to garden view is worth it? Does it really make a difference ?

Also, trying to decide if we go with YC to get the balcony?? This past trip was the first one without a balcony, and I did miss it!! Heck I would have been happy with a Juliet balcony.......but no balcony was disappointing .

maybe if we have a better view at BC we won't mind not having a balcony, and let's face it, it's closer to Epcot, has the Marketplace, a lively lobby......phew it sounds like I'm rambling!!!

For all of you Y&B guests that know Vic, one of our dispatchers, luggage room CMs and someone who filled in for us as lobby greeters on occasion, I just wanted to let you know that Vic passed away Thursday evening. He actually worked at the Y&B on Thursday. He will be missed so much!!!

Teena so sorry to hear about the sudden loss of your co-worker. His friends and family are in my prayers.

Me too!!! Someday, Dee! :)

Even before 9:00 am?

How much before? You can enter EPCOT through the International Gateway, via a closed World Showcase, once EPCOT is open. So if EP opens at 8 am, you can get through at 8, or possibly a few minutes before that. If it opens at 9, then you can enter then.

If you have a confirmed dining reservation in Norway, the CMs will check for your name and let you through to get there.

What you can't do is get through the park to get to the front before the park is open. If you need to get to the front of the park for a tour that meets there before park opening, or for the start of a marathon race, or something, you will need to take a cab to front of EPCOT. There are no buses from the Yacht & Beach Clubs to the front of the park.

Funny you asked. I was at BC GV CL this summer and annoyed bC most of the rooms there DO connect. However at YC CL GV Gazebo - we stayed in 2 of the 4 rooms and neither connected. So I have to think they do no facing the gazebo as I would have had to connect at some point as I stayed a room apart each year. That is confusing way to word it but long story short I do not think they do. You could have the YC CL room assigner check for you. They are super nice about that...

Has anyone stayed there? Are the Garden View rooms nice? Would you stay in them again? Any thoughts?? Should I change to a different view??

We've stayed at the BC before and loved it - but she's never stayed CL anywhere, so I thought I'd surprise her. She thinks we have a standard room...

Michelle I have stayed both YC CL GV and BC CL GV and much prefer YC set up.There are so few rooms that are GV CL at either resort but BC CL GV has handicapped rooms assigned to this category and unless you need them I think you might be disappointed in room layout. And at least 4 of the garden view rooms connect and that was disappointing to me. I could hear noise...I like the lounge much better at YC....Would I stay BC CL GV again? No. I would stay at BC again in a heartbeat - love the resort and honestly if it were another category say LV CL it could be a whole different story,I don't know, but so few garden view rooms and such limitations on them I wouldn't do it again for garden view...hope that helps.

Just got back from four nights at Disney. Didn't stay at Beach Club (we were at POFQ and got upgraded to a river view) but we did visit and had ice cream sundaes at Beach and Cream and sat outside overlooking Stormalong Bay at dusk. What a great place to have a relaxing sundae.

Thank you for the reassurance and that's a great idea to just ask the IPO. Thank you.

Teena,

So very sorry to hear about the passing of your friend and co-worker Vic. Many thoughts and prayers are going out to the BC and his family.

Teena,

Sorry to hear about Vic. Sounds like you have some great memories! My prayers to the staff and his family especially his wife.

Jeano4545. BC. Tues, July 31. And this was supposed to go where a person can request noodle use. Can you tell I am a real newbie at this?

OH!! Perfect!! Thank you for explaining. I don't now why I was under the impression that you couldn't even get through the International Gateway until World Showcase was open! :rotfl: So whatever time Future World opens, the International Gateway opens. Got it! Thanks again for clarifying.
