Hi everyone,

Just wanted to stop by and say "Hi".

Last year we stayed at the Beach Club for the very first time and had the most magical vacation.

We have been trying to decide when to return and have talked some friends into coming with us. Once we showed them pictures of the resort there was no question as to where we would stay We have all booked into the Beach Club from the 16th until the 30th August 2013.

I tend to read more than post but hope to change that over the next 12 months. Looking forward to planning with you all.

Would loooove to go on the guest list (thanks Dee)

We haven't told the children yet so am also looking for a novel way of telling them.

Hope everyone who is lucky enough to be going this year has a wonderful time - love reading the trip reports and "highs and lows".

When we went in 2007, hubby was really hoping we'd get to see Gary Sinise, but it was not to be. I think he's always right around Christmas and we were there the week after Thanksgiving. Neil Patrick Harris was our narrator and he was fantastic!

I would LOVE to get Neil! So far, there is no one on tap for our day...I'm sure whoever it is will be great. If not, oh well, at least the meal will be good. We've also booked the Adventure Club for the two boys so that DH and I can have our one night to ourselves...IPO was very helpful in suggesting times and in reassuring me that we would have no problem getting from the Sand Castle club to the R&C in time to meet our ADR at pm. At this point, it's just a request, but I'm hopeful they'll be able to book it!! It's funny...I keep telling DH about "putting in my request" for ADRs, but I don't think he realizes that I'm doing it with IPO. I haven't told him yet that we're staying CL. I was planning to surprise everyone with it when we arrive.

We were let in around 7:50 for our 8:05. Plenty of time to take a few pics. There was a dedicated line to the left for people with reservations to walk in early.

Just so you know though - Main Street will not be empty. There are quite a few people with 8:05 ADRs at both CRT and CP. But, it will be much emptier than later and if you angle your picture right, it might look like you have the park all to yourself. Have fun!

We also discovered that Main Street isn't empty at that early hour, but it was definitely less crowded!

It used to be that every trip was him and scenery. People used to ask if I was actually on the trip too because there were never any photos of me.

Ha ha!! I know how this goes! I've actually taught DS10 to take pictures with my DSLR, and he's actually getting quite good at it.

Agreed that the park is not empty, but if you're lucky you can get shots like this:

To battle against what I call the "surlies" when posing for pictures I have a "bad picture beauty contest" when we get home. This is usually held at the first family Holiday gathering where all the relatives are present and can vote on the winner. Any and all pictures are eligible and one year the kids cheated and took one of me sleeping which won in a landslide! (Pay backs!)

Just got back from the dr.'s. Last week I found a tic on me (think I got it at ds's baseball game). It's been bothering me so I thought it might be infected. It's lyme disease!

Oh, you poor thing! Hope it goes away soon!

Just returned from a wonderful first trip to the BC. We were upgraded to Club Level and we were so surprised. When the man met us at the Magical Express we didn't know what was going on. It's all a blur and I couldn't hold my excitement. As soon as we arrived in our room I screamed so loud.

Now we are hooked and look forward to doing CL again next year. The cast members there are wonderful and always made us feel welcomed. The food and drinks were terrific.

I'm sad that we're home and I can't wait to go back.

Does anyone know if they have mens flipflops at the store , I looked to see if any of the pictures showed some and I did find one the looked like a pail with womens flipflops or sandles . They are great to wear around the resort espically SAB .

I don't know but there seems to be more mens and women wear at the YC store.

Yes, I would think YC store would definitely have some if you didn't find what you are looking for at the Marketplace. Beach Club ones would most likely be Disney, but YC would probably have more "real world" ones.

Hi there. For the first week of our holiday next year we are staying at BC and then moving to a condo for two weeks. We usually hire a car for the entire holiday, but as our first week will be purely dedicated to Disney we're considering not getting a car for the first week. Is the transport from BC good or will we miss having a car for that week?

I just finished watching "Walt: The Man Behind the Myth". And I have to say, WOW, what an amazing man! He was not only a successful businessman and visionary, but also a wonderful family man, who as we all know has given us all so many happy moments & joy because of what he created. Amazing!

Hello fellow Y&BC friends! I haven't posted since last fall, but have 'lurked' off and on, and have been catching up.

Hey Robyn, I wish I was going to be at the DIS Meet with you and Teena. After all, I was at the first one (and even provided the picture on page 1 of the thread)! And I met so many wonderful people there!!

Dee, you have done such a great job with this thread!! I wish I met you in person, but at least I met 'Flat Dee' back in August 2010. It's hard to believe we are not going back to YC/BC this August after having back to back August trips there (BC in '10 and YC in '11). We still talk so much about those trips. My kids are grown (21 yr old son and almost 19 yr old daughter) but they love WDW. And we met Teena and Pete who are our friends.

The good news is we are going to Disneyland (first timers!) in August. We will be visiting with my brother-in-law and his family (they live in Fullerton, CA) and also staying a few nights close to Disneyland. I want to see it all! It may be smaller than WDW, but they pack a lot into those 2 parks! And we are very excited to see the new Cars Land. I actually posted a couple of times in the DL threads on here...but saved my big post (haha I think post 500 makes me a 'DIS veteran'?) for my favorite thread.

It's good to be 'back'...

I can't remember seeing any when we were last there (September) but if you are willing to go to Epcot, Germany has a ton of Adidas footwear, including flip flops.
