OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

From what I've heard they no longer even look at the faxes. Too many people started faxing requests and it become overwhelming for the cms.
You are better just to have your request on your reservation. Also, it's usually not a good idea to request a certain room, better off requesting a general area, view or balcony type.

Correct.

First day back from my Illinois vacation, so now the real countdown to WDW begins. I'm still not looking to rush through summer, but knowing we only have a little over 4 months is pretty exciting.

Of course, I didn't check in on the boards during vacation, so I'm way behind on this thread now. Hopefully I'll have some catch-up time over the next few days.

If they are on the reservation, the room assignor will see them. However, please remember, requests are just requests. No request is guaranteed.

Thank You TeenaS for your answer . Have a great day and I am dissapointed that I will miss you this trip . You have a great vacation .:)

Technically it is up to the curbside team as to whether or not they will put you in that line. A couple of things could happen. The curbsider CM could have your packet and just give it to you and take you upstairs. Or they could put you in the on-line check-in line downstairs or they could take you and your packet upstairs.

If you are CL and want to check-in upstairs, whether or not you did on-line, just tell the curbsider that grabs you that you are expecting to check-in upstairs even if it is crowded upstairs ... be firm and tell them you'll wait in the lounge if necessary.

We were never greeted at the bus by a CM when we arrived. We actually went inside and told the greeter we were there for CL and he got us a CM right away to whisk us upstairs.

I mean part of your upcharge for CL includes personalized check-in so if I'm paying for that as a perk, I would certainly want to get that.

We have curbside greeters from 7 AM to I believe 9:00 PM. Unfortunately sometimes a guest gets missed - it happens when there are maybe two curbsiders on and both have guests. Just tell the first CM you see (whether they are valets, bellmen, greeters, managers in the lobby, or a CM at the desk) that you are a club level guest that wants to check-in and somebody should take you upstairs! I totally agree that if you are paying for CL you should be taken upstairs and given a personalized check-in.

Thank you. One more Sunday and Monday to work coming up and then off to play in Colorado. I sure hope the fires aren't going to impact anything (airport, ride to the ranch, etc.)

We've always been greated by the curbside greeters at BC CL and YC CL whether we drove or arrived by ME. However when we stayed GF RPC we not only weren't greeted by a curbside greeter but after we told the bell man that we were staying CL they had us sit outside on the benches for 25 minutes just waiting for someone to take us upstairs to check in! So you can get overlooked anywhere - it happens.

Hi All!
Just got my ME vouchers and tags along with our package papers! So excited! I was very surprised as we leave on July 14th....but HAPPY. Makes the trip seem closer. This one is so special as I am celebrating my 50th with two weeks in WDW/Universal!

I read the post on the Mother - Daughter trip and I never thought to do that. Looks like more planning on the horizon for me. For those that have DD and DS that BOTH love Disney, how did you take one and not the other or did you just do two separate trips :cool1:
Congrats on your 50th! I would love a Mom/daughter trip in the future, but I am sure my husband would not be able to stay home.

We are having a fantastic time at the YC club level :goodvibes We checked in Saturday and will be here until Sunday. Have an absolutely gorgeous view of the gazebo/lake/boardwalk :cloud9::love::cloud9:

Our trip started out a bit rough with confusion in the lounge (food allergy) but has since turned around and is getting better. I made a quick run to whole foods and that also helped so that I have a couple safe options in the room.

If there are any questions just let me know and I'll try to answer :goodvibes
Glad to hear your trip is going well. Sorry to hear about the food allergy issue. Are they not able to accomodate? That has always been my worry about booking CL.

Hello again everyone! :wave2:

I'm back on the boards and all caught up with the thread after my surgery. I've been starting out slowly, reading the BC/YC gang's trip reports and now this thread. This has kept my spirits up as I ride the roller coaster of recovery. I am very fortunate to report that I am now cancer free and with some minor concessions I am expected to make a complete recovery from a very rare type of gastric cancer.

To celebrate I have added a trip banner for my December trip. I very much look forward to reading all the questions and witty repartee as I store resort knowledge in my brain like a well fed chipmunk stores morsels in it's cheeks. I have a feeling it's time for me to make my ADR's but I will need more time for that as my brain cells slowly migrate back to the useful zone. Reading all this wonderful information is getting me primed to make the grand plan for my December trip!

~NM
Congratulations! Disney is the perfect place to celebrate!! By the way, it looks like we'll be in Disney at the same time. :)

Hi all! I echo Ninja Mom's feelings that it's good to be back. Took about six month hiatus from most of the Disboards due to my father's illness-he lost his battle with ALS last Sunday and we are now working on recovery of the survivors. Planning a Disney trip in August but cheating on the BC with POFQ-needed two rooms since we are now a traveling party of 4 (wasn't going to make my DM room with DH's snoring...bad enough I have to do it!). I also spent the past couple of days going through the threads and catching up and it's good to hear all of you having a great time planning and bantering back and forth! Looking forward to catching up with everything here :)

Sorry for your loss.:grouphug:

Curbside greeters are one of my favorite things about BC. I have never visited any other resort where greeters meet you at the bus.

How sick is this?

I went back to the first page to see how many Dissers would be at BC/YC during our thread and I almost started crying looking at the pictures! For a long time I couldn't even look at the CL lounge pictures because my heart would hurt thinking we weren't going to be there. Since we upgraded I feel like I'm looking at pictures of our second home.

Dee - please change the BC gv to BC CL!!!!!!
I have to tell you, once again, what fantastic job you do putting that first page together. I hope you know how much we all appreciate it.

NOW -

Our Third Annual BC/YC Dis Meet is on Sunday, July 22 at 6:30. You can see the pictures from the first two on page 1.

Is anyone interested in joining us? So fare it's just me, Teena and Magical One (Lauren). We always have a good time - hope you can meet us with the BC/YC Family. Of course there will be some who can't physically be with us but join us in more than spirit (Dee, Pixarmom)!

Not sick at all Robyn. We all know your love of all things BC (especially CL)!

Amen Robyn. Amen.

Just a personal opinion on online checkin. Let's face it. Checkin time is one of our most anxious times on any trip. We drive/fly/ride for hours upon hours to get there, get stuck in traffic/flight delays and parking problems and then get tense about an added 10-15 minutes (or in Robyn's case 25) as we arrive.

I know. I've been there. We took Magical Express once from the airport and the bus driver got lost on Disney property. He left POR and went to the front gate of EPCOT looking for the Y&BC. We drove past some places two and three times. He drove past both entrances to EPCOT Resort Blvd and continued down the road toward POP. I was in the back going ballisitic. One disadvantage to knowing my way around Disney property, I knew the driver was lost. Most/all the rest of the riders were just content to ride around.

Moral of the story. The ride probably added 10-15 minutes to our trip but I was livid. In the whole scheme of the trip it didn't matter at all. It was all inside of me. I was at Disney and I wanted to be in my room, in my pool, in my park. I take the no online checkin route. I've done online checkin before and for the life of me do not remember the difference. You could get hung up behind someone in either line asking same question over and over. Could happen in any line, anywhere. Biggest advantage is as Teena says. If it is in regular checkin line there are more people to work around if you do get stuck. Hope this helps.

We didn't mind being missed!! We had an awful experience with ME so having that CM rush over to take us upstairs made us feel special again! lol!!! Arriving at a busy time its expected that there might be more guests than CMs there to greet individually.

I'm glad we didn't get stuck sitting on a bench though!

Just FYI, someone posted a few pages back about wanting to book the Wishes Dessert Party for August... It just opened up for bookings about 10:00 am today. I booked mine for August 23:cool1:!!!
Thanks for posting this info! I was thinking of calling today, but decided to stop by the boards first. I am so glad I did. We are booked for Aug 21! This will be our 2nd time, and I can't wait!:cool1:

At one of my favorite places - and with a Dad's brownie sundae to boot!
Hope your family has a magical trip!

It's official- our family trip to Coronado Springs has now been changed to Beach Club!! :cool1: Dee, can you add me to the Be Our Guest list? We'll be there 8/26-9/2.

I had to give up free dining (so, not sure how we're going to eat:rotfl:), but with the late summer discount, I almost made it work out financially. (Ok, who am I kidding? It's going to be way more expensive- but I just couldn't imagine not going back to BC, after my sisters' getaway visit!).

Dh and dd10 don't know yet- I want to surprise them this weekend. I was thinking I could come up with some fun surprise to include w/ dh's father's day card. Any ideas out there??
