OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

We are officially booked for a BC GV CL room Dec 9-17!!

I am extremely protective of my ADRs and am sort of a control freak, but was considering using the IPO this time around for all of them. The last time I had already made my ADRs when we upgraded so only used IPO to book a couple changes if I couldn't find an opening myself.

Has everyone had pretty good luck using the IPO at the 180 mark...or are you all too much of planners like me to use them? TIA

Drumroll - We just upgraded today to CL!!!!!:banana::banana:

I am so happy. We really love BC CL and would have missed it so much.

Great news! I know how much it means to you to be able to make the change and glad it worked out for your family.

We recently decided to as well and we are looking forward to some relaxing time at the BC after how hectic our schedule has been here at home.

Yay! I can share your excitement, we upgraded yesterday! We decided to just book what we know we will love.....we are spending a ton anyway, what's a few more $$$ ?

I haven't contacted IPO yet, do I just email them with the address on the front page of this thread? Not really sure how this all works, I already have ADR's but need to check a few things.

Yes. Just send an email. But there is a space in the dot com part of the address that you have to take out for it to work. And it helps to put your reservation # in the subject line....Enjoy!

Happy Friday, YC&BC Lovers! :goodvibes

Just got a refund on our 4-Day MYW tickets that I 'exchanged' for 10-Day No Expires... that means MORE Disney in the coming year(s). Albeit shorter trips but hey, more Disney is more Disney, right? :thumbsup2

Yay to DisneyMomx7 and upgrading to CL! :woohoo:

Jcondrad: I tend to book my own ADRs. I haven't really had luck with the IPO the past two years ... although this year I am asking for the moon (a.k.a. a lunch ressie at Le Cellier). (I booked my other 2 ADRs myself.) They did say I could keep checking back with them for any availability. :confused3

congrats to you, disneymomx7 and wdw4us for the CL bookings.

I can't comment on the IPO service.

NOBODY touches my adrs!!!

YC/CL/LV Question:

The WDW booking description of the Lagoon View CL rooms at the YC says that the rooms "Offer views of Crescent Lake." I need to verify if this is correct or if they also face SAB.

Do all the LV CL rooms at the YC directly face Crescent Lake?

Thank you for the clarification and thanks for the well wishes!

clarification to the clarification. According to a life guard when i asked a couple of years ago, Only the clear tubes you rent from Disney may be used at sab. You may not bring tubes from home even if they are clear.

You may use noodles you bring from home or purchase.

Giving up control of my ADRs was extremely hard for a control freak like me!
That being said we've had wonderful luck with BC IPO making all our reservations the last two years and even being able to order a special cake and some special items for the kids.

Since we switched so late this time I've already made all our ADRs.

Ohhh, nice! Curiosity has got hold of this cat. :thumbsup2 Could you share what types of surprises you had arranged? Directly through the IPO? I've always been keen on doing something special for the kiddo but have been given the "Disney Florist" canned reply twice, albeit from the Poly IPO. If IPO could arrange a simple surprise, that would be lovely -- instead of going through Disney Florist. Sorry for the pop quiz!:goodvibes

I am a control freak planner too! I was away on a business trip at the 180 day mark, and had slow WiFi and had lost my time zone advantage. So, I gave up my control and gave it over to IPO. I was booking reservations for 8, and was able to get everything I wanted (including CP at 8:05 a.m. and 'Ohana at 6:30 p.m.) This was for May, and we didn't find the crowds bad at all, so if you are traveling at a busy time of year, maybe they won't be as awesome.

I also had what I thought were impossible changes close to our trip date and they made them no problem.

HTH

This is my 5 months to go post!!!!

Already plotting what shirts/outfits I want to bring down with me :rotfl:

I really don't think DBF knows what he got himself into when last year he told me to plan my dream WDW vacation :rolleyes1

Hi friends--we're headed to the YC this September and booked water view. Have any of you ever booked water view and NOT receive a view of the lake? Just trying to decide if water view is worth it...thanks!

Hi, I had a YC LV CL room with DD last year. Our room faced the lagoon, and SAB was in front of the lagoon we faced that as well. We were left of the lighthouse looking from our balcony. If you are right of the lighthouse or right in front of the lighthouse I'm pretty sure you would only see the lagoon unless you looked sideways. This was before they changed the room descriptions so not sure if a TRUE lagoon view is just that or if it includes SAB. HTH!

Good luck with your planning both of you!

We can bring our own life jackets for the kids right???If I remember correctly I saw others using the non-issued ones. I recently got some for my kids and they would be so much eaisier then renting daily.

I can't wait to go and don't know how I will make it to August!!!

Thank you, Nannette for confirming my suspicions. When I looked at that ol' Disney Zone room map, I thought some of the CL/LV rooms overlooked both SAB and the lake. I was confused because the CL room view is classified as "Lagoon View," and doesn't mention a pool or SAB. But the non-CL view (which I think Nancy is asking about) is classified as "Water View" and mentions that it could be a pool view.

We just don't want to overlook SAB, so to be safe, I added "Away from SAB" to my room request.

I've asked IPO to shop at the BC Marketplace and make up little "baskets" that were really sand buckets. Inside I had them put Disney gift cards, arcade cards, mickey rice krispy treats, salt water taffy, mickey lollipops, mickey candy bars and things like that.

If you look on the photo thread of the BC Marketplace, Pixarmom did a great job of showing just about everything they had! Pixarmom also did some great pirate theme baskets through BC IPO.

I even had them purchase those light up mickey balloons and tie them to the buckets.

HTH!

Hi Kook,
Just saw this post and your new ticker!! Yacht Club CL/LV is what we reserved too!
That lagoon view is so beautiful. I am glad it's a bookable category at YC/BC. :cool1:
Love all the resorts you're staying at on this vacation, sounds like it's going to be such fun!

Awww, those are wonderful ideas! Thanks for letting me know. :goodvibes

Last week we had a perfectly fine stay at Coronado Springs, but the entire time, I found myself wishing I was back a the Beach Club. I'm doing a short stay for the half marathon probably at AoA because it will be just me, but our next full stay will be at the Beach Club. You don't realize how convenient it is until you aren't there!
