can't get to disney...

Delta canceled flights, can[t get us to Disney until Monday, DD goes home on Tuesday. If we cancel the trip all together, what happens with our park passes? Am I out $900?
I am so sorry your trip is canceled :grouphug:

Unless it’s changed recently, Disney would allow you to use the value of the tickets towards the purchase of a new set of tickets. I would contact Disney directly as soon as you can to see what is involved in making sure that happens for you. I don’t know if there are any time limits involved and would not want you to miss out. So far as I am aware, they do not refund tickets, so you won’t get the cash back, but if you can hold onto the value to use later at least you won’t be out the $900 forever.

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this.

Disney is usually decent about the tickets. As long as they haven’t started to be used (by entering the parks) then it’s extremely likely they’ll let you use the credit for a future ticket (even tickets bought via 3rd party vendor). I’ve done this a few times now.

Make sure to keep all your records, especially the ticket number. After a ticket ‘expires’ it might no longer show in your account. Keeping all the related info on hand is the best way to make sure the CM can help apply it toward a new ticket.

Even though the fine print sounds very strict they normally allow you to use the amount paid on a 1 ticket to 1 ticket basis. They won’t refund the price difference if the new ticket is lower cost, so it’s best to use toward similar or more expensive ticket.

Some of the brokers have given refunds in certain circumstances. Could be worth a try? They might even let you change ticket dates? Not sure. But even after buying thru broker, Disney will let you use that credit toward a future visit ticket through them.

For ticket purchased through Disney, they have in rare circumstances issued refunds but that’s more like a pixie dust decision I think.

Do you have a Disney package that includes tickets or just a room reservation plus tickets from Disney or from another provider?

If you have a Disney package you can reschedule your package for a future date. For example 60 days out, and then you will be able to cancel your package.

I just wanted to stop by and say that I am sorry your trip is messed up because of the flight cancellations. I know how much you worked and saved to make this trip happen for you. This sucks and I feel so badly for you.

I don’t have anything to add to the advice above - call Disney as soon as you know for sure you’re going to cancel, and keep record of the ticket numbers and the online Disney price the day you bought them.

I just wanted to say I’m sorry, too.

This has to be beyond frustrating, so sorry this is happening to you.

Is driving an option?

What are the chances of return flights being canceled after you arrive here on Monday? It’s containing an uncertain time.

As mentioned above, if you have to cancel, keep track of everyone’s Disney ticket numbers and prices paid. And call Disney.

I’m so sorry @leebee!! I know you’ve been preparing for this trip for a long time. So disappointing.

We once had to cancel a trip less than 24 hours before due to a hurricane. The disappointment was awful! Disney was extremely helpful in offering us solutions. I believe they will be in this case too.

Hope you can reschedule again soon. (Hugs)

Thank you, everyone. Today has been one cluster after another. Started at 5am when we tried to check into the airport in Bangor only to learn that Delta had closed it's luggage tagging. Of course I was packed in a full size suitcase. We went home, I repacked, we rented a car and drove to Portland to fly PWM-ATL-MCO. I guess there were huge storms in Atlanta today (our captain said we might have to divert to another airport to get enough fuel to circle Atlanta); I guess it was pretty bad. We finally got to ATL, an hour late, and hustled to our gate. Waited and waited and they finally cancelled; no flight crew. Stood in line at Delta for over an hour, trying to get rebooked. We were about to be on a flight to Melbourne when that got cancelled. That's when I threw in the towel. I'm exhausted, disappointed, and sad. It's been a day, but everyone's kind words are really helpful.

Driving would be an option, but not tonight. Just too tired from such a long day to be safe on the roads. We'd lose all of Sunday, DD would have Monday, but had to go home on Tuesday. We were also worried about her being able to get back. If this is happening with only a 4% reduction, what's gonna happen next week, with a 10% reduction?

Bright spot: Disney refunded the LLMPs and LLSP. I'm thankful for that.
