OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Ohhh, nice! Curiosity has got hold of this cat. :thumbsup2 Could you share what types of surprises you had arranged? Directly through the IPO? I've always been keen on doing something special for the kiddo but have been given the "Disney Florist" canned reply twice, albeit from the Poly IPO. If IPO could arrange a simple surprise, that would be lovely -- instead of going through Disney Florist. Sorry for the pop quiz!:goodvibes

With help from Pixarmom, Robyn, and IPO, I did this too. I ordered some plushes from the Disney Store, a charm bracelet, and some vinylmations about 2 months out, and they kept them for me for the baskets. I emailed them the inventory and of course cleared everything first with them. They bought some random pins for trading, a Pirates gun, gift cards, arcade cards (those were trickier as they had to be charged to the room and I had no room until checkin), some treats and a balloon. They even added some extra chocolate, like a giant Twix and some twizzlers. All in the HH bucket. Pretty awesome since ive read other IPO won't do it.

Whew! Holy Cow! I go away for four days and this thread takes off like a rocket! Finally got caught up!

Well, to all those headed down to WDW in the next few days, have a great time! Checking the weather forecast, they are calling for temps in the 80's for the next week or so. High 80's to be sure, but it's better than 90's. I am hoping to have the same luck.

When I got back, I found my mail had arrived from the travel agent. Too cool. I have the ME tags that we won't be using and my whole itinarary. In only 8 days, we spill the beans to the offspring and head off for LA to eventually arrive on the morning of June 18! It's so hard not to tell them, I'm trying, I'm trying.

Welcome back home Dee! Sorry you had to leave the best place. Looking forward to hearing your report! To everyone heading down... see ya!

P.S.- Hey Feckless, now the "Yacht Club" has practically cleared Spaceship Earth. Too Cool!

Well, that gets you a  WTH you get three more!:banana::banana:

So excited for you and can't wait to hear about the big reveal!

So anyone going to be there during my short mini vacation with Princess Lily (August 7-10)?

Here are some of the pictures from the wedding!!
What a touching story and a beautiful little girl. :)
on magical depress right now. :sad1:

Wish upon a star. Your story made me tear up. Your daughter is beautiful and the story was heartwarming.

Unfortunately it was the second time yesterday I was brought to tears, by one of the teens. Not mine. How is that for a teaser??
Welcome back! What a great teaser. Headed over to your report now...

Wow.....so much has happened in the few days I have been missing the Disboards.

As for us, I am paying off our trip today!:banana: I am also in the process of trying to convince my DSis to take her girls to Disney. They are 10 and 5 and I think it's a crime that they haven't experienced the magic yet!! Lol Most of my family think that my love (or obsession as they put it) of Disney is not normal. I think that's why I love Dis so much......everyone here seems to understand my insanity!! :rotfl2:

Have a great day all!!
Congrats on paying off your trip.

We are officially booked for a BC GV CL room Dec 9-17!!

Has everyone had pretty good luck using the IPO at the 180 mark...or are you all too much of planners like me to use them? TIA
I would never turn over my ADRs to anyone. I actually like booking ADRs - so much that I am constantly changing them. I'd probably drive IPO crazy.

What fun! Surprising the offspring is truly magical. Hang in there. From someone who has done it before, it will be worth it. And, as a bonus, your children will be totally in awe that you were able to keep the surpise. :thumbsup2

We leave on the 7 th after breakfast at cape may :(... Hopefully we can see you and meet your princess before we go...

Well I JUST got off the phone with IPO, who called me because they just got notified that the Hoop Dee Doo Review is changing their times. They indicated that this is probably the reason why they weren't able to book us earlier this week. I did some research at allears and it looks like they had piloted these new times last year and then reverted to the originals earlier this year. And now, it seems like they're going back to the new, earlier times.

I'm so glad they called--this is one of the things I love about staying CL!! We switched to the 8:30pm ressie, which works perfectly for our very late-eating family. That's actually about the time we sat down to dinner last night. :rotfl:

I also updated my request for Coral Reef to indicate we had some wiggle room. Yay, I love planning meals 6 months in advance. :rotfl2:

Now off to read Dee's trip report!!

We will be there August 5-11!! I will keep my eyes open for you and your little princess at SAB.:cutie:

Super! We should be there every day. Not planning any parks. We'll do the parks the week before when we are staying at our house.

I asked this question a while back, but thought I would bring it up again to see if anyone else had an answer for me. We just switched to CL LV, and I really would like a full balcony.
We have stayed CL lagoon view before and were in a room down near the end of the hall overlooking SAB and most of the lagoon. My question is, if we book CL LV, is this stretch of rooms the only lagoon views, so we would have one of these rooms?

And do any of them have 2Q and a daybed?

I guess I'm asking because although we loved our view last time, we found the afternoon pool activities to be very loud at SAB, and they were right under our room. Napping in the afternoon was kind of difficult.

I realize of course we can't request specific rooms, and I am totally fine if we get one of these again. Wondering what kind of views the rooms have that are on the fifth floor above the back entrance???? Those look like full balcony's. Has anyone stayed there?

Sorry for the questions! We have never reserved Club Level before, so it's the first time ever that I have some inkling of what room we will be in.

Thanks!
Linda

Here's the view over the back entrance of the YC. This view is not zoomed in at all. I've stayed here many times and I love this view. I absolutely love sitting on the YC balconies!

Staying there yes. I've worked in the lobby a few times and that's why I'm not a fan of the dark side. The lobby is soooooo dark and quiet compared to the BC side.

I think you'll end up liking the rooms though. Who knows, you might actually like the "dark side". :lmao:

Hi Teena! I'm wondering how your feet are treating you since you've had a few days off? I hope you're feeling better and going back to work tomorrow is easier on you.

I've asked IPO to shop at the BC Marketplace and make up little "baskets" that were really sand buckets. Inside I had them put Disney gift cards, arcade cards, mickey rice krispy treats, salt water taffy, mickey lollipops, mickey candy bars and things like that.

If you look on the photo thread of the BC Marketplace, Pixarmom did a great job of showing just about everything they had! Pixarmom also did some great pirate theme baskets through BC IPO.

I even had them purchase those light up mickey balloons and tie them to the buckets.

HTH!

I've been going back and forth on whether to use Disneyflorist or not, but this sounds much better. How did you contact the IPO? We have reservations club level at BC & I can never get an answer when I call the phone number listed on the emails. The only way I've been able to communicate with BC IPO is thru email. When we stayed club level at the Poly I never had that problem, so I'm not sure why I can't get thru.

On our first trip in September 2010, we were very fortunate to receive a pixie dust upgrade to BC CL--lagoon view. Our room was #5661, directly above the back entrance to BC, and did have 2 queen beds and a daybed, and a full balcony.

I think it is one of the best room views in all of Disney!

Thanks guys!! It was such a humbling experience for me! But then I have to say that I have been amazed many times by the kindness of strangers . We always hear about the bad and evil things people are capable of, but I have met some really wonderful and kindhearted people! I think back to my son's Make A Wish Trip, there were so many lovely people here with some really great advice and tips! And the Disboutique Ladies were beyond amazing!!!

We had such a lovely time during our trip. Before we left I told my daughter that this trip was going to be a lot different than her Wish Trip. I talked to her about being patient in the lines for the rides and about how it wouldn't be the same, but we would find little ways to make it special.

The best moment for me was when she told me while we were on the DME on our way home that it was just like her wish trip because everyone was so nice to her at the Beach Club! She said she felt like she got her wish all over again! She absolutely adored the CM's there!

Those pictures of the your daughter and the wedding are beautiful....such a princess! princess:

I started reading your trip reports....I also live in the "greater" Pittsburgh area. We're about 20 minutes west of the airport in WV. :goodvibes

Does anyone know if there are pictures of what's available in the Crystal Arts/Germany/DTD stores that sell all of the glassware? Especially the engravable stuff??

After reading the posts about fun gift baskets, my wheels are turning.......

Think I will post this on the theme park board as well.

Thank you! My parents have actually stayed right in one of those rooms....and I could not agree more about how I love sitting on the balcony overlooking the lagoon....my favorite place in the world!

However, I'm sorry, I should have been more clear that we are staying at the Beach Club, and that's the back entrance I was referring to! I found some good pictures over on the Resort phot BC/YC thread also. Some of them are probably yours:)

Oh my gosh, I just saw this!! I read YCFAN's post first, don't know how that happened! THANK YOU!! This is the exact answer/post I was looking for....who do I have to pay to get this room????? It's awesome!!! Great view, close to lobby/elevator/lounge, and away from SAB...Perfect (at least to me):)

Hi Teena! I'm wondering how your feet are treating you since you've had a few days off? I hope you're feeling better and going back to work tomorrow is easier on you.

Thanks for thinking about me. My feet don't hurt at all. The pain usually starts around 3 hours after I start work. Even on Mondays, after being on my feet all day Sunday, I'm good for the first 3 hours and then it really gets bad.

I'm hoping tomorrow might be better ... maybe the shot had a chance to work and I'll be good all day long. Keeping my fingers crossed!

That room was a big part of the reason we became Beach Club lovers! I went on that first trip thinking that it was going to be our "big, once in a lifetime Disney trip", but it has now become an annual trip! :)
