OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

:banana::banana:Just paid off the balance of our 30th anniversary trip!! It is a done deal, we will be there on Aug 3. :cool1: I am obsessed.... my every waking moment is thoughts of Disney  Thank you all for the great information on this page. It is helping me pass the time away...

Teena S hope your foot feels better real soon. I personally know that is very painful. Hope to meet you on our trip and maybe sneak a peak at Princess Lilly.

Can IPO help me make a ressie for the Mandara Spa at Swan/Dolphin or just official Disney locations?

Oh! That's good to know. I didn't realize it said that. I had originally purchased just 2 EBCI, but then added 3 more because I worried it would be difficult to save 8 seats. I feel better now! Thanks.

Just be aware that no saving seats is allowed - if the flight attendants catch you telling anyone not in your party that "seats are saved", flight attendants will correct you and have you move your things. Heard it happen myself on several trips.

That' being said, you have a much better chance of "saving seats" as long as you are towards the back of the plane. If you try to save seats in the front where they can see and hear you, it will never happen.

So I'd suggest one of two things: save the seats past the wing of the plane (more chance you won't be scolded), or just have the five people who got EBCI sit together and the other three can try to sit together or nearby (also, they can check in RIGHT at the 24 hour mark, which could get them in an earlier group to board). Otherwise, to be fair, they need to get EBCI.

This is not about BC but I always get my best and most trusted answrs from here so....

HOW IS THE WEATHER OVER THE NEXT % DAYS? The forcast looks like a lot of rain. We have AP and I was thinking of taking DD8 down for a long weekend. She just got her cast off and can't do her normal cheerleading/dance stuff. I packed today and the BC has availability but the weather is making think maybe we should stay home and try later this summer.. She still has to wear a brace so getting soaked in the rain would not be good. Normally I don't mind clouds and some rain.

Sorry for the long wether post. Any info from someone in orlando would be helpful as I am packing the last bit of stuff to load in the car.

I know at CR you can order a Chocolate Monorail from Private Dining, does BC have anything special like this I could order? I don't want to do a whole cake again this time since we did not seem to eat enough to make it worth it last time. Any ideas for a special treat with a Disney spin?

ok... We are leaving in 10 days and we still haven't gotten our Mickey Mail yet!:scared1:

My family is hoping to be able to get into Be Our Guest if it opens in time for our trip. We talked to the IPO and was told that while they have no information yet they do check for availability for all requests every day so they have added it to our wish list. :flower3:

I checked out the links given here on the thread, and though I'm tempted to try to put in a request, with it being so far out and no firm opening date yet, I'm going to hold off. I'm going to keep an eye on announcements, though! :)

I've been reading this thread for info. We are going back to WDW October 2013 for Food and Wine Festival and I would like to try either the Beach Club or Yacht Club.

Can't go wrong with either choice. Great time to be at the BC/YC with all that going on in WS. Seems like everyone thinks the same thing given how fast this resort fills up for that time of year.

Can IPO help me make a ressie for the Mandara Spa at Swan/Dolphin or just official Disney locations?

Don't know but bumping your question so it doesn't get lost.

You can do Private Dining at BC too. Many of those that post on this thread have done so with some great themed ideas such as pirates treasures and princess themes. I'm sure Private Dining would be more than happy to help with ideas.

Did you use a travel agent? I'd call if not.

The IPO asked what days were our preference in the event the restaurant opened. We figured that there was nothing to lose because we do have ADR's in place. I do look for updates daily.......there is something wrong with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone, been lurking on this thread for a while so thought I'd introduce myself :goodvibes

We've booked YC for our first ever wdw stay oct 2013, thank you to all who contribute to this thread it's so wonderful to see such enthusiasm for the resort :thumbsup2

:welcome:

Welcome Tinkertaylor! In my best Threadmaster Dee impersonation let us know your dates and we will add you to our Guest List on page 1!

I've been reading this thread for info. We are going back to WDW October 2013 for Food and Wine Festival and I would like to try either the Beach Club or Yacht Club. We usually stay at the Poly and have also tried BW and WL.

Come on over and give us a try. Some like BC. Some like YC. Some like BWI. (We love WL in winter and BC in the summer!)

Can IPO help me make a ressie for the Mandara Spa at Swan/Dolphin or just official Disney locations?

Just give them a call/email. I'm sure if they can't book they will be glad to get the information for you.

Thanks. I will definitely try that. Also thinking if the five of us spread out a little just keeping two middle seats open we should be ok. My husband and BIL are 2 of the 3 without EBCI so they will be fine to sit wherever. We really just need 1 seat near the five of us for one kid. And moving back on the plane is a great idea too.

Good morning from Chicago! We went fora walk yesterday and stumbled upon the Disney store. We stopped in but didn't buy anything...yet.

Hope everyone at Edwin this week is having a great time.

We have stayed CL lagoon view before and were in a room down near the end of the hall overlooking SAB and most of the lagoon. My question is, if we book CL LV, is this stretch of rooms the only lagoon views, so we would have one of these rooms?

And do any of them have 2Q and a daybed?

For those of you that have purchased flights from Southwest you might want to go and check to see if the prices have dropped! I did the other night and now I have $180 credit :cool1:.

We are almost in the double digits cannot wait to be at Disney World & staying at the Beach Club :goodvibes. I think I am driving my family crazy talking at it so much!

I am also driving my DH crazy by talking about the trip everyday. Yesterday I had to hold back and bite my tongue everytime I wanted to mention something or ask another question about ADR's or plans. It was a long night because all I wanted to do was talk WDW :confused3

I got you all beat! I'm not going back until 2014 and I'm already thinking about flights and possible cruises! Does anyone know how late you would have to book an international flight when you are coming off a cruise? Am I nuts to go straight home from the boat? I was thinking of doing a cruise at the end, but it seems like it makes more sense to do it in the middle of my split stay. That seems crazy too though! We are definitely going for two weeks this time, and have never cruised, so I only wanted a 4 day cruise tops.

Thanks. I'm going to ask the doctor about the splints at night and maybe he'll get them for me. And I NEVER go barefoot ... my doctor has me in orthotics at work and Crocs at all other times even if I wake up during the night to hit the bathroom. I do the stretch stuff too.

I'm just really nervous about going the surgery route since he said it's no guarantee ... sometimes it works and sometimes not. To be out of work 2 months for something I'm not sure will work doesn't sound feasible.

I wouldn't want to go through surgery either especially given that there is no guarantee. It's part of the reason I didn't want to have to do the cortisone shots either -- I hear they're not effective with everyone. So, I'm glad I was able to get it under control (albeit, after 6 months!) by other means.

I also have developed plantar fasciitis. Your post sounds just like me....no more cute sandals, no more bare feet in the house. Which I loved! Stretching every morning and whenever I think of it during the day going up and down stairs - great stretch. My indoor slipper-shoes are now Stegman's and my sandals are now Naot's.

I believe my trip to Disney last summer is what caused it. It started about 2 weeks later (that's what I get for reading on the DIS and believing that my Teva Mush flip-flops are great for touring! :headache:) This coming up week will be a big test for me.

I don't think you can ever really know. Even if they call for a 50% rain chance, it might rain 5 miles away and it never rain in the park you're in (of course, it might not rain somewhere else and pour down where you are). Just yesterday, I saw that there was a 60% chance of rain on Friday and 20% on Sat. and Sun. Today it shows 50% for Friday and 30% for Sat. and Sun. So, it's just the chance you take. I'm prepared for the worst, but hoping for the best. I'm originally from FL, so I take the weather forecasts with a grain of salt. Good luck with your decision!

Thanks for the weather feedback. We decided not to come because this was going to be a quick girls trip no ADR's made or real plans. If it ws our big family trip we would definitely be going. We live at the beach in SC and the weather looks like it will be great all weekend after 4 days of rain so we will have fun at the beach and pool here. Hope everyone has a great vacation at the BC that is coming up. IT IS A WONDERFUL PLACE.

Thanks for the heads up. It's always good to check which I have been doing.

I checked but we got such a good deal when I booked that the current decrease in fare is still a lot more than I paid! I got a round trip from Manchester NH to Orlando for $289.60. :thumbsup2 The same flights today are just over $500 rt. :sad2:

The main reason I've been checking is because SW got rid of their early early morning flight. The earliest flight out now is 8:40am. We loved the earlier flight they had which left around 6:30-7:00am! I guess on the bright side, I won't have to get up before the sun and will be able to stay up later while at Disney!
