OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Yes, we will definitely walk that day. We will be in the lounge when it opens at 7am to grab a quick bite and out the door by 7:10 at the latest. Last year, we raced a boat and we got there about the same time, but we still made it to bag check first ;) (This was about 8am).

What is it about having to race the boat when you're walking? :rotfl2: We've done the same.

I was just talking to DH and showing him the cut-through and now we're thinking we may drive. It will be my younger DS's first year without a stroller and we don't want to put that much stress on him our first day/morning.

Are you following along on the SWW thread on the theme park board? There was a mega-line to even get near the DHS parking lot for opening day (but I am not sure if that trend continued).

It is a LONG walk (especially with little legs), but at least it won't be too hot yet.

Maybe before you commit to driving, take a peek and see if you see any boats running? It would probably take just as long to drive, park and then take the tram to the front gate as it would to actually walk/boat it.

ETA: I just posed the boat start time question over on that thread to see if anyone knows...

Hi All,
I just want to say I love this thread, I just want on here to explore different resorts and fell in love with this "chatty group" I am hoping my job gives me enough overtime or some pixie dust from the pin code fairy godmothers LOL !! :wizard: For me to be able to stay at this resort ! Your Thread has made me realize it is worth paying for deluxe resorts due to the location, as well as the BC and YC is the best deluxe resort. Stormalong bay looks amazing and I love the noodle story !!!! Well, I will let you all know if some overtime or Pixie Dust comes my way to be able to stay at this lovely resort ! :hourglass

:welcome:

What a nice post!!!

I hope you do get a chance to book a trip to the Beach or Yacht Club, soon!

I was lucky to get a 30% pin and have decided on yacht club over beach club due to the full size balcony. I hope I made the right choice! We are booked for garden view, what section or room should we request? I like high floors but hoping I do not get An obstructed view. Thanks all , love reading the posts. My four year old is going to love the pool.

:welcome:

When is your trip? If you would like to be added to the Be Our Guest list, let us know your dates.

Dee - And my 16 year-old's newest "you are so salty". What does this mean?

Again.....just let me know if my chaperoning services are needed!!

OK, I just looked over at Nate and said to him "You are so salty". He gave me that "You have finally lost all your marbles" look and asked me "What does that even mean?". So either it is just a regional saying or a deep dark secret saying that teens don't want to explain.

The "You're not even tough" expression was running rampant at our middle school a few months ago. So much so that the 7th graders were banned from saying it with threats of detention. Any one else familiar with this phrase?

Gone for two days and this thread has moved along!!!!! :)

Dee, good luck next week with those boys and girls! I'm wondering how well they'll get up in the morning to get moving???? I've been lucky over the years that my oldest boys weren't sleepers (until they hit their 20's). Our youngest DS14 isn't too bad either. Are you bringing a pot or pan or two for alarm purposes? :) Either way I'm sure it will be trip of a lifetime! :thumbsup2

We leave in I think 11 days. I'm excited I think. Lots to do as usual and still not getting overly worked up about it. I'm not sure what my problem is. Is there a cover charge for Jellyrolls. It sounds as if a great place for the DH and myself to visit one evening. With all the talk about balconies etc. I'll be interested to see what we end up with. We've book BC CL standard view and put in no requests.

Happy a great Disney day Everyone!!!!

Thanks for the good wishes! I am a little scared about how much catching up I will have to do when I get back! :scared1: I hope to check in on the thread first thing in the morning or after we are tucked in for the night.

My son is a relatively early riser, like his mom, but I don't know about the other kids. I think they all have to be up at 6, on the bus by 7 for classes that start at 8 on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Oh no. :sad2: That's strike 2 for Boardwalk Bakery! First, a sub-par Oreo Bon Bon and now a S'mores. I'm going to have to focus my taste-testings on the offerings at the Marketplace, Starring Rolls and Main Street, methinks.

I'm currently in discussions with the hubs on upgrading our park tickets to APs. We're contemplating a second trip right after the New Year. Wish me luck, YC/BCers.

Good luck on getting hubby to agree on the upgrade! I managed to talk mine into it for this year and he is extremely stubborn so it is doable!!

Not to wish the start of summer away but is it August yet?????

I need my vacation now!!!:hourglass

I've been saying the same thing! Kids are not even out of school yet and I'm wishing for August to get here like yesterday!!:rotfl:

28 days!!!! I can hardly stand the wait! Only two more days of school (I'm a teacher), so at least I can relax and dream of Disney all I want after Friday!

I am so jealous. I have 17 more days of school

But I get to leave just a few days after that. See you SAB:cool1:

Anyone ever get a little too excited for a trip and make a planning ooops?

So my last day of school/work (I am a teacher) is June 12th, I was so excited to book our trip that somehow in my January mindset leaving the morning of the 13th was a brilliant way to celebrate the first day of summer vacation. What was I thinking? I am off all summer, we could have left on the 14th or even the 15th but no, I chose the day after I am done so here is hoping my room is cleaned and ready to leave in time for me to be able to pack for Disney. I think I got a little too excited when I was planning and did not think logically. At least I will be in my happy place in 2 weeks!

And Dee, you don't want to hear the phrases that High Schoolers come up with. Though one "clean" one is "you are so swag" and if I hear YOLO one more time this year it will be way too many.

Go Dark Side!!!

I know this is off the subject, but are there only 2 places that you can get a DOLE WHIP (MK by Swiss..Treehouse and in the Poly)? Does Hurricane Hannahs or Beaches and Cream???

Hi Everyone! Only 13 days until our first trip to BC. For those of you who have visited before do you prefer to bring your own towels for SAB or just use the ones provided?

We just use the ones provided. It is one less thing to have to pack. Besides that, we were going to SAB so much that our own towels would never have dried in between uses!

Hi, everyone! I'm trying so hard to keep up with this thread, but I think it's a lost cause. :confused3 I started with the old one (March/April/May) and was keeping up on the iPad during my walks until mid-April, but I fell way behind because i had to elininate my morning walks due to construction adding 20-40 minutes to my daily commute. Then I was dismayed when I came back on Monday and found not only was I 30 pages behind, there was a NEW thread with 14 more pages!!! I think I give up!:rotfl:

So...I'll just throw out my question though I suspect it's been asked in some form before...

I'm close to my 180 day mark! (Next Monday, I do believe) And I'm completely overwhelmed at dining choices. It has been almost 7 years since we've been to Disney, and that was our first time, so my knowledge of restaurants is pretty limited. Since I know I should make my ADRs on Monday, and I want to send them to IPO to let them do the hard part, I need to figure them out!

I'm looking for ideas...the "tried and true" restaurants that everyone loves. My boys are 6 and 10 and I suspect one character meal will do us. (Sadly, no princess meal for me, since I'm the only girl in the party. :sad1: ) We like to eat late as a general rule (8 or 9pm is not unheard of for us), and I suspect having the ability to snack on the conceirge offerings will help tide us over.

If anyone has any "must try" options that they love, I'd love to hear them! Thank you!

PS: We also have the dining plan in addition to CL, for what it's worth.

Can Someone explain the pools/hours?

I think I read somewhere that SAB is open from 10 am to 10 pm?

I was at BWI and their pool was open 24 hours, but the slide was only open while lifeguards were there--which was about 10am-10 pm...is it the same at SAB, open 24s, just not the slide?

And if not, are their quiet pools open 24 hours? We will be staying in YC. Thanks!

Couchy, do you have kids. My daughter is 11, but will be 12 while we're there. She would love to meet other kids there!!

I would like to know this too, as I enjoy late-night swimming! :thumbsup2

SAB has designated hours that change according to the season. If it is open 10 AM to 10 PM, then you cannot get into the pool except for those hours.

The three "quiet" pools are always open and not attended by lifeguards.

Wonderful! Thank you Teena! :)
