OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Greetings Everyone! What a wonderful 5 days we spent so far (minus Debbie) at the BC CL. Our first three nights we were in room 5648 (door immediately outside the club lounge). In was a corner room and soooooo big, what a gem of a room. We were suppose to depart our BC room for the Grand Floridan on Sunday morning but we were lucky enough to be able to stay almost put. We moved two doors down to room 5652. We were fortunate enough to check out around 8 am and move our own things immediately to the new room as it was ready (this room has a balcony with two chairs/table). Its been many years since we've stayed at a deluxe. I forgot how much I enjoyed this place. Of course, as many know the weather has been a Debbie Downer! ;) What can you do but continue to have fun. EMH last night at MK was a blast. We stayed until 1 a.m. and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite the rain, water up to ankles in a few places, etc. We don't melt, haha. One more day until we depart for home. I love Disney and I can't wait to come back.

We are so spoiled from last year. Originally our plan was 6 nights at POP, then 3 nights POP, 3 nights BC CL, now 1 night POP 4 nights BC CL unless we get a good discount, then it will be 5 nights BC CL:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Don't miss Beaches and Cream! We think they are the best burgers on proprty, great 50's atmosphere, and who could resist the kitchen sink! My kids love the campfire and movies on the beach every night.

My girls and I have done the spa at the GF but now it's closed for renovations. DH did have a massage once at BC and he said it was really good but I'm not sure of all the services they offer. I know they do massages but it's not a full fledged spa like the one at the GF. You can get a manicure/pedicure at Perriwigs.

HTH!

We love Beach Club for so many reasons. Of course SAB is great, but we also love the restaurants (Cape May and Beaches n Cream are both good, also just a short walk to Yacht Club for Yachtsman's Steakhouse and Captain's Grille). There are several lounges to get a drink if you like that, at least 4 I can think of off the top of my head. Plus walking around the resort at night is also fun. One of the biggest perks is being so close to Epcot. If you have a park hopper pass or annual pass you can go to Epcot in the evenings even if you went to a different park that day. We do that a lot. And of course we walk over to the Boardwalk area all the time too. Lots going on over there. Getting ice cream, checking out ESPN club, kids like the street performers (magician, juggler, etc). And our kids love to hit all the arcades and carnival games. We get them those arcade cards and they can use them anywhere. ESPN club has an arcade, and there is one by SAB also. I feel like I'm rambling on and on. LOL :lmao:

Thank you for the great ideas! A Kitchen Sink, a tour of the lounges and quality time at the Boardwalk are definites!

Cheers,

Dave

Hi everyone! :wave2: I'm a Beach Club newbie (though Dee can vouch for me, we go way back on the Trip Report boards :rotfl:)

I'll be staying at BCV for the first time for two nights (which I'm hoping to increase to three) in early October and I'm so excited! I've read through all the handy info at the beginning of the thread and now I'm (slowly) making my way through the chatter. But I did have one question to start with, how do we join the Noodle swap?

Looking forward to learning lots from you BC experts. :goodvibes

:wave2: Missy!

:welcome:

Here's the post on the Noodle Swap, but unfortunately, it looks like they are already spoken for for the entire month of October.

Post 14: Noodle Swap

If someone wants to be added to the swap, and the noodles are available for their dates, they just need to post here and I will add them to the list.

Thanks Dee! :thumbsup2 It looks like there may be an opening in the Noodle family for my dates (right now it is October 4-6, hoping to add the 3rd at some point).

Let me know!

I am off to sleep because the alarm is set for 3:45 to catch my 6 am flight into MCO :cool1:
I am checking into the Dolphin for one night and then moving over to BC  for the rest of my stay! I will be sure to give some live updates. The first updates might be a little soggy :rotfl2:

We had an awesome stay at Yacht club last week! It was our first time there and we really enjoyed it. Except for one previous trip we've always stayed on the monorail so I was a little hesitant about an Epcot area resort. I've got to say the proximity to Epcot & HS was great! I also LOVED Stormalong Bay. It was a great way for this pregnant mama to escape the June heat. I loved the sand bottom and the shape of the pool... it never felt over crowded.
I would definitely stay there again but may try Beach Club next time... I like to sleep around at different resorts ;)
Anyway this was a "relaxing" short trip so I'm not doing a trip report but I have lots of pics on my blog if anyone is interested.

I'm sure this isn't the proper spot for this question, but I have a feeling someone will be able to help.
Right now we have 8 day park hoppers for DH, my boys, and myself. The price including tax = $378.08. An AP = $611.31. My hopes are for a BB offer when we go in August so I can book a trip to go back with my boys and my Mom. For $233.23 each to upgrade (just mine, and the boys) I am thinking it would be so worth it because then we would only have to buy tickets for Mom. Does a BB offer allow you to only book the hotel?
If I were to upgrade to AP can the CL CM's do it at BC?

Can anyone tell me if "swimmies" (those arm hugging floaty things) are allowed at SAB? I know noodles are allowed but what about other things? Thanks!

Glad to hear you enjoyed YC. We'll be staying there for the first time in October so I'm always looking for reports from those who have stayed there...especially recent visits.

And like you, I also like to sleep around........at different restors. :rotfl: We've done CBR and POFQ previously. This will be our first Deluxe resort. And before I was married, I stayed at SOG with my sis and BIL since they are military.

Alright, Debby!!! Move on out, because another girl is coming to town. I really want her to get moving. I hope everyone who is there now is still able to enjoy their trip. We arrive tomorrow afternoon and I know it is still scheduled to be raining, but she has to move on eventually. Right? Please?
Still, it can't ruin my excitement. Tomorrow night....Beaches and Cream.:banana::banana:

Greetings Everyone! What a wonderful 5 days we spent so far (minus Debbie) at the BC CL.

Ya know.... it took me forever to figure out who Debbie was! When I first read this I thought Debbie was some problem relative and you were stuck with her on your trip. This turned out to be sort of close but not exactly right huh?

Then I started thinking about all those trip reports where people have the relative from h,e, double toothpicks on the trip and they try desperately to cope, mostly by drinking or changing the schedule so they leave early for the parks and ditch the offending relative, who is still in bed, and no way is the cranky relative catching the bus at 6:30 with you to see the opening show at EPCOT! ;)

THEN I started to feel sorry for Debby, who was obviously dragged on this trip despite her objections and who is just plum worn out from all the walking and is STILL a little nauseated from being made to go on that gosh darned little Mermaid ride. Oh and they don't have her favorite beverage, Harvey's Bristol Cream at ANY of the liquor stalls she trolls in a desperate bid for Disney Relief.

Nope. That Debby sounds like the last person you'd want to bring on a Disney trip. Yep, it sounded like a good idea when you were in the planning stages. "Let's take Debbie! A trip to Disney is just the thing to put a little sunshine in that cloudy, gray heart of hers!" Now all you can do is throw cab fare at her along with directions to those outlet malls in an effort to ditch her.

Poor Debby!

Does anyone have a picture of the walkway from Beach Club to Yacht Club? Checking in tomorrow, dinner reservations at Yachtsman's, but we're thinking of switching to Cape May to not deal with Debbie. Forecast has "Squalls" from 4pm-8pm.

I know the description from the first page says it's covered, and would be fine except for windy heavy rains... and squalls are basically super windy heavy rains!

Anyone's thoughts on this (sans pic) would be helpful, too. Thanks!

A BB offer does allow you to book only the hotel, I think with a one night hotel cost as the down payment. If you book a package, then it is $200 down payment. Once you book the BB, you can change the dates and keep your BB rate as long as those dates are part of the BB.

:rotfl2: Poor Debby....she sure does like to rain on everyone's parade (among other things)! I hope she packs her bags and gets out of there soon!

Yes - the swimmies are definitely ok for swimming.

Some lifeguards (it really seems to vary) will not let kids wearing swimmies goes down the big slide.

HTH.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: This post made me laugh so hard. Don't feel sorry for Deb...she's had a longer stay than needed. LOL How awful for someone to really feel that way about a relative though....or to be stuck with her on the trip.

Even Deb won't ruin our trip though. Beach Club tomorrow with the wind, rain or whatever weather we get.

I see someone already answered your question regarding the BB offers, but with the upgrade, no - you will have to go to Guest Services at any of the Parks to upgrade your passes.

This had me rolling! Too funny!

Hmmm, it almost makes you wonder how Debbie and Stacie would get along......:rolleyes1
