OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Thanks for the live report. We still love Le Cellier as well. Via is are favorite at Epcot though... the pizza is sooo good and the calamari. :woohoo:

Glad to hear you and others love Via! It is our last ADR before we head back home. I'm hoping its a great ending to a great vacation! :cool2:

Does this mean Richard got our emails?:rotfl2: Just kidding, of course. Hope to see you there!!! 8 more days. I can't believe it's been two years since we were there!

I guess he did because as of now he took off. Of course if it's not a busy check-in day they might not schedule me in. And I'll be away when the schedule comes out with no computer access so I won't know for sure until I get home on 7/2.

Well, we will definitely look for you just in case then. We certainly hope they schedule you!:banana:

I am lovin all the live action Trip reports and the coffee talk and the upcoming trip mania posts complete with dancing bananas

I am left wondering if Mickey T can pile up a couple of those now unloved value resort swappin fridges and use them as a tripod for his night shots. The secret to good photography is to get the family to help you carry your gear around the parks. If anybody sees a guy with a camera and 3 people dragging box fridges and walking behind him, be sure to say hi.

Speaking of photography, after all this cancer business I just went through I took the leap and ordered my dream camera. It's a Nikon D4 and I can't wait to use it in the parks. It will take about 2 months to get here so that is plenty of time for me to study up and get back in the game so to speak. I am hoping this camera will really let me "fly" and maximize all the opportunities that taking pictures at Disney provides. I was watching the movie "A Christmas Story" with the kids and I said "You do realize that that Camera is Mommy's Red Ryder BB gun?" I think my husband would have rather I bought the BB gun and I know the kids sure do. The squirrels in the back yard had voted for the camera though.....

As far as our December trip planning is concerned some of the restaurants we want to book are still being held hostage until they decide what to do with the Candle light processional packages. Thank God those early weeks in December are traditionally low attendance weeks. Can you imagine if they delayed releasing reservations for popular restaurants during a period like spring break? I guess we will just have to sneak down to the lobby at night and nibble on that ginger bread contraption they construct in the lobby for the Christmas holidays, unless Disney decides to sell CP packages for that too! Oy!

For those of you going during the Halloween period or the Christmas period be sure to pay special attention to the operating hours of the Magic Kingdom. The MK closes early during Mickey's not so scary Halloween party /Christmas party so it's something to be aware of when planning your trip schedule.

Well that's enough from me. I thought I'd give you all an update on how a December Diva is doing with her planning. For all of you who are going in the summer thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and your updates and questions. It's fun reading and it puts a wag in our tails even though our trip is a ways off.

Not to wish summer away b/c it is just getting here but....

49 days til I get to the BCV!!! I can't wait!!!:cool1::dance3::yay:

I know how you feel! School ended yesterday, and I can't wait the 52 days until we head to the Beach Club, school starts the week after we return:sad1:

Since I can't wait I'll ask more questions. Has anyone done club level with deluxe dining? We are planning on eating in the lounge most days for an early breakfast with an early TS lunch and a signature dinner most nights around 7-730. We have booked for dinner: Le Cellier, Cali Grill, Yachtsman, Flying Fish, Cape May, Tutto Italia, and Rose and Crown.

2 of my 3 kids love food and are very adventurous, one of these is a Disney adult this year and can't wait to order steak at every opportunity.

My husband is concerned we will spend to much time eating but I think the kids will need the mealtime out of the sun and in AC. We are not park commandos, I think there is always the next trip to see what we may have missed.

Do you think they will have to roll us back on the airplane?

I think as long as you do mostly signature dinners (and don't forget places like Hoop Dee Do), you'll be ok. And on days you want to be by the pool, instead of eating at Hurricane Hannah's, you can put on cover-ups and eat inside Beaches N Cream (TS). I think it is way too much food if you don't use "doubles" for dinner!!!

Hello BC/YC Friends, I am checking in to see if the Voluptuous Pool Noodles are at SAB? We are scheduled to be their pool buddies 6/22 - 6/24. Looking forward to seeing them again! :grouphug:

Ohhh, it is so very good. We constantly try to make our own and replicate its goodness but there is nothing like it. You will def. be ending on a great note

Yes, the garden view category was added a couple of years ago. This is from the FAQ on Page 1 (Post 12):

What will the view from my room be?

Effective with reservations on January 1, 2011, the view categories at the Beach and Yacht Clubs were reclassified into 3 booking categories:

Standard view- parking lot or rooftops
Garden view- something green- trees or courtyard
Water view- lake or pool

Hi Natebenma,May I mention another recent change on booking categories? I booked Yacht CLub Lagoon View-Club Level, and have a printout to that effect from when I paid my deposit in June 2012. When I logged into my disney account to view my reservation, yesterday, Disney has changed my reservation to Lagoon or Pool View-Club Level. This is the "new" designation. There is no sole lagoon view anymore. :sad2:
I did call the IPO, just to clarify what I had booked and wanted. They made a note on my reservation. I don't think the upcharge is worth it if someone gets a pool view. Crescent Lake, on the other hand, is lovely.:goodvibes

Finally the time has almost come for our trip to BC. We've enjoyed the relaxation of Gulf Shores but I can't wait to start the trip to WDW/BC. Hurry up Thursday get here. Thanks MickeyT for the HS report. I just read it to my DH and DS so they know what to expect for that morning. DS is hoping to stay up to 2 a.m. to close MK next week. I hope we're up to it. My feet are rested and I'm ready to roll. :cool1:

LOL. From my experience during the summer months they check everyday. They even have people who walk around SAB and if you do not have your band on you have to get out and provide a room key. Sometimes they have even asked for last name, room number and number in your party, then checked their clipboard that has all the guest listed on it, to make sure it is you.

I have to say, we were there the last three days and I was kind of bothered because on 2 different days I actually had to seek out the lifeguard at the gate to get a band. Both times they had their back to the entrance and were chatting away with another CM. We could have easily walked in without showing keys or anything. DH actually thought I was nuts to stop and basically make one of them look at my key (he doesn't get it sometimes).

Quick synopsis of yesterday and this morning:

Arrived at BC @ 10:30 yesterday and immediately saw World’s Best Cast Member. The check in/check out desk was super busy as you might imagine on a Monday morning. Teena made sure we were taken care of and we were off to the 5th floor. To my surprise our room (4557) was ready. We were in by 11:15.

After some unpacking (love that wife of mine) and chatting with Teena we were off to EPCOT. (Got to meet gokimiko!) We headed straight to SSE just to get us in the WDW mood. “A Grand and Miraculous Journey”. After a few rides and just some good old soaking up the atmosphere we headed over to LeCellier for our welcome home dinner. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Never felt rushed. Spent a good two hours in there. It doesn’t seem near as busy as it once was now that it is a two credit restaurant. We came back to BC to enjoy some resort time. I grabbed the camera and went to snapping. I ended back at EPCOT for Illuminations. I left my tripod st home  so I did some not so good fireworks photography using a trashcan.

I am loving the live report. Sorry we missed you but it sounds like you are having a great time! We ate at Le Cellier for lunch yesterday and LOVED IT!!

We did Deluxe Dining and CL this trip. It was not too much food but I found we did not take advantage of as many CL offerings since we had plans to eat. I think if the kids were a little older and we could dine later at night, it would have worked great for us. It was a nice break from the heat for sure!

We just got home about 1.5 hours ago from our amazing Disney trip. We had the best time. I will give a full report of my BC stay tomorrow once I have a chance to sleep but I had to share the best part with you all...here is a picture with the resident celebrity (and my DD and myself).

Make sure when you do your survey later at home, you mention exactly what you said above!!!!! The recreation managers will hear about it from the survey. They will definitely want to know.

If anybody is there now and experiences this, ask to speak to a recreation manager and tell them. They can't fix it if they don't hear about it. Unfortunately they can't be everywhere at once and they are very serious about the identification process for SAB!!!!

It was fantastic talking with you!!!!! What a lovely family you are!!!

I don't post very much but always try to stay up to date with this thread. So much great information!

Teena - I've been telling my family about you and they are all looking forward to meeting you. Ds & dd are really looking forward to pin trading and have pretty much classified you as a "celeb" since you get to work at our favorite place in the world. Hope we get to meet you while we're there in August (22-31).

we do this every trip! Our dd is small so we enjoy taking the breaks throughout the day to sit and eat. We do a mix of signatures but have done many 3 TS days, with an early breakfast (my family loves breakfast foods so CL offerings aren't enough for them), a lunch around noon and dinner at 5/6 and bedtime at 9ish. CL is great for my hubby and me though for after bedtime. We can grab a drink (or two or three and stock the fridge) get some desserts and then relax on our balcony watching the lake.

CL is more a convenience for us than a meal plan and we love trying new foods, so deluxe works best. I don't think it's too much food if you space it out and aren't upset if you don't finish every bite.

As for the rolling on the plane...I lost 9lbs from all the walking in between meals :)

Oh cool! Is anything happening on the 4th? Just curious. Hope to see you! :)

As soon as I have a schedule for July, I will post it here. It is usually not avilable until the first of the month.

If you stand in the middle of the lobby at the YC in front of the big globe and look out the front door, if you put your right arm straight out to the side, you'd be pointing to a tiny little area (an alcove). They have breakfast stuff in there in the morning.

Mike- if you see this request AND if you have a chance some morning, can you snap a picture of this breakfast area? No big deal if your plans do not take you to the YC at that time of morning. Please don't go out of your way.

:goodvibes

Hey,

We'll be at the BC CL-GV July 4-8. Looking forward to seeing other DISers. I am not sure if we will have the BC pins ( I already messaged Nanette and am waiting to see). I always do have the alien green mickey head on our backpack and will make sure I post what room we are in so that anyone can drop by and leave a note if they'd like. If anyone wants to meet up, Let me know. We are hanging out at the hotel all day on the 4th.

counting down!!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list

:cool1:

Just wanted to say hello, I have read all the pages on this thread and have just booked to stay at YC 21st-30th August 2013. Thank you everyone for all the information on here it has been really useful in helping us to book, we kept considering moderate resorts but after reading all the wonderful things about YC/BC we HAD to book to stay here. Plus my DBF has never been to WDW (or even America!) before and I haven't been since 2005 so we're really excited. Only 428 days till we go! :rotfl2:

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for next year.

Looks like we're going to miss each other. I'll be leaving on the 21st to go out and help my daughter get her classroom ready for school and then I stay for the first week of school as a teacher's aide. I do lots of volunteer work at the school where she teachers as a Disney VoluntEAR. Tell your children I will miss meeting them and pin trading with them but that the "celeb" is my boss, not me. Mickey is the best boss in the world!!!!
