Old Park Hopper Plus - no longer "children"

We have "plus" options (for water parks and such) remaining on our park hopper passes from 2002. I know they are never supposed to expire - but here is the question:

Two of our daughters had children's passes when we went in 2002 BUT the girls will no longer be considered children by WDW when we return in November 2006. Can we still use the remaining "plus" options on the children's passes? Will we need to pay some extra money when we go to the water park?

Thanks!

Disney reserves the right, of course, to have you pay the difference, but they've been very generous, by all reports, and have generally upgraded partially-used child passes to adult passes without charging the extra fee.

We just did this with DS's ticket. Took it to Guest Services (we used the one @ Downtown Disney) and they exchanged it for an adult PH at no additional cost.

One of the few times I disagree, with the first part of the statement only.

If a child's ticket (age 3 to 9) has been partially used, and the child is now older than 9, Disney has always reissued the ticket as a 10+ for the same person at no additional charge.

However, if there has been no use of the ticket then you will only get the ticket cost value for upgrading to an adult ticket.

I think the reason why Disney won't guarantee that they won't change that policy is because of what another poster said earlier -- what that poster said as a joke, there are some folks who would take seriously. If this becomes like the myriad other situations where a significant number of folks routinely exploit this loop-hole, as a matter of course instead of a matter of exception, you can be sure it'll be closed.

Last summer we went to the water parks with old options from park hoppers. We didn't exchange them at all, just went to the turnstyle. The girl at the gate didn't balk at all or say anything about converting them.

If they had park days left on them, I would have exchanged them, but they just had options left.
