And when King Dons (or Ding Dongs) depending upon your geographical area in US were in foil wrappers.
We have Ring Dings here (Drake’s). I used to fold the foil origami-style to make little animals.
How about when sticks of gum each individually came wrapped in both a foil and paper wrapper?
Didn’t know they’ve changed, but also used to fold the paper wrappers to make chains.

I also had a metal lunchbox with the old-style Thermos that was glass inside. One day I dropped it and there were broken shards of glass floating in my chocolate milk!
As for soda bottle deposits, we’ve had them for decades here in NY and still do (as well as in several other states.) 5 cents for glass, plastic or aluminum cans.
