Old Non-Expiry Tickets and Magic Bands?

I have some old non-expiry tickets from over 10 years ago that still have days left on them. I was able to get them into My Disney Experience by calling in to Disney technical help (and trying to remember which park we last visited on them and when). In order to get FP+ usage with these, I bought magic bands which should be here soon and I'll link to the accounts as well.

I also am going to have to buy some folks on our trip additional tickets to link onto the band as a couple tickets only have a day left. I can link both tickets to a band according to the tech guy.

Question: Do you still use a ticket at the gate even with the magic bands to get in?
I am finding that after I've linked my non-expiry tickets to the account, I am probably going to purchase 5 day tickets anyway and want them to use those FIRST so that the 1 day non-expiring can be used another time. With both tickets linked to the band, I don't want Disney to take the non-expiring first and end up leaving an unused day on the other ticket.

2.No.

3. You need to go to any Guest Relations BEFORE you enter a park and have the CM set the PRIORITY of the ticket that you want to USE NEXT to the Highest Priority.
You can go to Guest Relations as many times as you need to chose a ticket to use next.

1. Just to keep things as clear as possible, you do not NEED a MagicBand in order to make FP+ reservations or to access (use) FP+ in the parks.
MBs and FP+ are two completely separate entities.

I know I can use the tickets for getting the fast passes but the old chips are not radio chip enabled. Thanks for the info on guest relations.

I was told I had to go to Guest relations and they would apply the 2 days of park admission on the old ticket to me and refund me 2 days of park admission on the ticket I purchased with my package this time. I hate to waste the time doing this, but I think it's about $250.00 that I could get back.

You don't necessarily need to have this done.
You can connect the older tickets yourself (and get help from I.T. If you happen to need it.
The new tickets can just stay in you MadE account for use in the future.

If you WANT to just use the actual tickets at the parks, you can trade for new RFID cards at a ticket booth or guest relations for free.

I don't anticipate returning to WDW for quite a few years, though... so I would rather have the refund, if possible.

You will not be getting a refund.

You will only be "keeping" the new tickets for future use.

Who told you you could get a refund?

A cast member that I talked to a couple of days ago told me they would take the amount off my package and issue me a refund. Or at least that's how I understood it.

Unfortunately, that's another case of an uninformed CM "making up" answers. (This happens far, far too often.)

Disney does refund tickets except under special circumstances.

Well, I guess it's not a huge problem. The money isn't really an issue, and I guess the ticket's been sitting there in my mom's safe deposit box for 15 years. I guess it can sit there a while longer. I'll talk to Guest Services and see what they will do.

So when you say "NO", do you mean that you don't use the tickets at the gate when you have the magic band?

I am going to have to go to guest relations anyway to convert a child nonexpiry to an adult (still not clear on if there is a fee or not a fee on that), so I will plan on spending some time at guest relations to get tickets all straightened out. The one day tickets will end up just being banked to another trip, I think. I just don't want to lose the non-expiring piece since it sounds like that is not an option any more.
