Old Magic Bands

what does everyone do with their older magic bands? We have newer character magic bands linked to our upcoming trip. Can I just throw away the bands from our 2013 & 2015 trips?

We binned ours as the kids didn't come on our last couple of trips and we had to pretend we'd actually been in Miami.

Whatever you do, make sure to deactivate the ones you won't be using. Would hate for someone to find it and use your account...not that I hear it's a big problem

How would someone even do this? They would not be able to determine your MDE account or password information from only having the band. . .and they would need your 4-digit PIN to attempt to purchase anything with the band. I guess if you happened to be at a WDW resort and they happened to guess the right dates, resort, and room number, they could enter your room.

A few years ago I had problems getting the bands I had with me to work at the park for FP+, kept saying invalid. I had to deactivate most of the old ones on my account and then the bands worked with no issues. I don't know if this issue has been fixed, but I now keep only a few active.

I have our current ones (about 12) done this way and hanging on the doorknob to my work area. Pretty neat. This includes current new bands, but might as well. Gives me a Disney reminder every day.
