Old lady here..looking for advice for teenage son...

Greetings! We're planning a trip to WDW in April with our kids DD3 DS7 and DS Christopher (17). Chris has been to Disney once when he was about 7. I am sure the younger kids will have a blast and I'm sure Chris will enjoy it as well. I am concerned he's going to be "bored" without kids his age to hang with. Any suggestions? I don't want him to feel left out, but at the same time, this IS the littler kids' first trip and he and I DID have our special one-on-one time back when he was younger.

Do you think he would be too bored and lonely to take off on his own to for a while and do his own thing? Or do you think it will be more boring to stay with us all the time? or do you think he'll have a fine time with us? It's not like Six Flags where he likes to go on rides the litter ones can't. Pretty much everyone can ride everything together at Disney. What do you think?

Hello!

I'm 15, and just went to WDW last month.

He'll love the thrill rides, like Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' RollerCoaster, and Expedition: Everest.

He might like the shows, if that's his thing, or perhaps EPCOT.

Give him some time to go on his own, but save some special family things!

That's totally up to your DS. Ask him what he would prefer to do. I'm a 15 year old girl and would much rather stay with my family, I'm shy and just clingy like that.

Your son may enjoy going to DTD or thrill rides off by himself, but then again that's totally up to your son and his personality and what he wants to do.

How about Disney Quest? Is that age appropriate or for younger kids? Like most kids his age he loves his video games. Although I do give him a run for his money on Guitar Hero.

The rides that your son may be most interested to go (Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster, Everest) would not be something you could put a 3 year old on because of height requirements. So I would recommend maybe letting him do his own thing at times. Then doing family thing at other times. Disney Quest may be quite boring for a 3 year old because alot of the thing there are interactive. Which would be quite confusing for a 3 year old. Disney Quest is mostly geared for people age 7 and up.

I suggest you take me to go on rides with him.

I went off by myself and I was fine. I just met my cousin back at the hotel. My favourite park is Hollywood studios. It seems to have the most like.. non little kid rides.

Also, he may enjoy going to the House of Blues in Downtown Disney. It has great food, and a great atmosphere. If you check ahead, they sell concert tickets for the all-ages club next door online. Many popular artists play there.

I personally don't think anyone can get bored at Disney, despite your age.

I'm 18, and in July my parents took me, my 18 year old boyfriend, and 23 year old brother to Disney for a week. Sean (my bf) thought he would get bored since it's mostly for kids, but he was dragging me around, saying "Let's go on this! Oh, this too! And we have to do that next!" the entire time.

So, despite his age, I think he'll have a blast.

Disney Quest is awesome. If he likes video game I'm he'd love it.

I'm 17 (and a girl...but whatever) and I just got back 2 weeks ago, I'm going back in 2 months and then again in february!

I NEVER GET BORED!

I'd suggest a tour, but with younger kids it might ruin the magic a little. Although, there are a few that aren't potentially magic-ruining. I'm not sure what the age restrictions for Behind the Seeds are (I don't know why there would be any), but that always looks neat and it's not expensive. Keys to the Kingdom (FEBRUARY! I GET TO DO IT IN FEBRUARY!) is behind the scenes at the MK, but you have to be 16 to do it. The Segway tour at EPCOT is also really neat, but you need to be 16 to operate the Segways. Ummm...I'm sure there's others.

DisneyQuest might be something he'd like. If you're concerned about the younger ones liking it, let him go on his own.

PS: Tell him it's OK to act like an 8 year old (like I do at WDW) because he's never going to see anybody again (except you all, but you're family and likely will be in a similar mood).
