could someone please tell me what is a good building to request at okw. I am planning to book a studio and woud like to be somewhat close to the main building with a view if possible. also, about how long does it take to get to the parks frm okw? thanks for all the help.

We always request near the Hospitality House when making our reservations. People like different locations for different reasons, so you will get a great number of responses with other wonderful locations. I guess with that said, all locations are terrific!! :flower:

We have stayed in #62 (my favorite so far), #16, #18 (a close second), and # 13. They all had fairway & fountain views!! However, #62 allowed us the pleasure of seeing the Epcot's Illumination every night!! :sunny: Plus that building has an elevator!

I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of the buildings!!

Good luck!!

All buildings at OKW have good views, and no matter where you are, you are a short bus ride away from the HH. I will remind you that studios are always on the outside corners of each building, so there might be less veiws and more chance of noise in those units. State the things that are most important to you when you make your reservation, rather than requesting a specific building. Smoking preference, view, and location might be some of the things to request, but there might actually be others that are of more importance if you think about them. I would keep the requests to no more than three. Remember that the more specific your request, the less likely you are to get it.

thank you for the responses a view would be nice. we will have our own car so i guess we could always drive to the main building if we had to but being close to it would help when running out for a quick drink or snack.

After the last bus stop at OKW, it takes about 8 minutes to get to MK. A bit longer to get to AK. Epcot and Disney Studios are closer.

Is 62 the bldg with an elevator and parking off to the side -- rather than in front of each unit? If so, it's a great bldg (view and close to HH) but the (relatively speaking) longer trudge to the car gets old when you've got lots of kids and stuff and you're used to the typical OKW convenience.

One more try, you are thinking of building 64. Building 62 has the parking lot in front. That no parking lot thing was the reason we didn't particularily care for building 64. I loved building 13!

I just got back last week from our stay in a 1 BR at OKW. We were in building 18 (ground floor - for my 78 yo mom, non-smoking). It was a great location and only ~ 4 minute walk to HH. My 7 yo niece LOVED the pool and slide, so we made that walk many times during our stay! My mom is still talking about how wonderful (and huge) our villa was. We fed ducks/birds from our patio many times and had a nice view of a pond. My sister is now VERY interested in DVC and drilled me with tons of questions while we were there. She was scheduled to take the DVC tour, but it just didn't work out. My son and I stayed at OKW for the first time in a studio over Spring Break (I can't remember the building number, but it was right across from the Turtle Pond bus stop) and became instant fans of OKW. I LOVE this resort and know that we will be returning there many times in the future. It has a wonderful "feel" about it and I think it is a great location. There are so many things to do at the resort if you choose to spend the day there instead of visiting the parks.

We like #23, first bus stop at the end of the night and a short walk across the bridge to the HH. Good luck it is a tough decision to make. I love OKW.
