If we were to stay at old key west, what is the transportation to the parks or is there any? WE will be traveling with a 4 yr old so I imagine we will be at Magic Kingdom alot. Do you get early entry into the parks as other resorts? Would a car be needed? We really want to stay at BCV or BWV at end of Sept 05 but I am afraid that we may not be able to get a room there. We are trying to rent DVC points but if we do not rent from someone with home points at BCV then we will have to wait the 7 months to book. Thanks for any info!

Disney bus transportation from OKW to the parks is just fine, you won't have any problems. You definitely DON'T need a car unless you want to have one. Don't worry, OKW is fabulous and the transportation is top notch. Have a great trip!

Ps:

Yes, you get EE into the parks!

Guests at DVC resorts are treated no differently than other onsite WDW guests. DVC Resorts have rooms available through CRO, just like all Disney resorts. The biggest difference you will notice by renting points from a DVC member will be the lack of daily maid service. Guests renting rooms through Disney CRO will receive daily maid service, like all regular Disney resort guests.

DVC resorts use Disney transport services, and at OKW I've found it to be equal or superior to that at other Disney resorts.

Transportation from OKW is VERY good. Buses everywhere rather than boats, but there is a boat to DTD. We have found the buses to be VERY good and rarely wait 10 minutes, but often less. Most of the units are within easy distance of a bus stop, and there are 5 stops within OKW. What size unit are you staying in?

Just so you don't expect OKW transportation to be totally rosy. I once waited 40 minutes for a bus to MGM. In the meantime mutiple buses came for everywhere else, at least 2 for every location I can think of. Yes, I'm complaining (and I did that day too), but NOT really at OKW. I've had this happen a few times at every other resort I've stayed at. Transportation is good 99% of the time, but not perfect all the time-OKW or anywhere else!

WHile I generally agree that the wait for buses at OKW cstops an be short (15 min or less) the wait at the parks can be long! Especially at night when the parks are starting to close.

However - I have found the buses to be no better and no worse than any other resort.
