Old Key West Resort Mugs

I was wondering if this resort has the refillable mugs? We stayed at PO last year and used them quite abit. Thanks!

Yes, OKW does have refillable mugs. Refill them at Goods to Go.

Depends on the time of year. Sometimes the mugs are not a good deal as you pay per refill, other times they have promos and it is comparable to other resorts for the cost and free refills.

We have not opted for them because with a fridge in the unit, you can buy a LOT of soda for the initial cost of the mug.

Regarding mugs, I have 3 Contemporary mugs, if I understand correctly, we cannot use them at VWL, do they take them back with some sort of credit and give you VWL mugs?? This may sound cheap, but if I remember correctly these mugs were about 10.00 or 11.00 bucks, I would think a trade in thing would be pretty good, they are getting some money back, and the soda costs almost nothing? Just curious.

No, they do not do a trade in, and you are correct, you cannot use them anywhere but at the Contemporary.

Right now they are selling Spring Break 2003 mugs for 10.99 and you get free refills for your length of stay.

They are now 10.99 with free refills. They have had them for better than a year, off and on.

But, please remember that the free refills are only for the duration of your stay!!!

Depending on where your unit is located, it can be a pretty long walk just to get a refill.

Having a fridge to put a couple cases of pop is more convenient for DVC'ers than refillable mugs. Plus the cans/bottles are disposable. Our family drinks very little pop. We buy water and then re-use the bottles everyday. Fill them about 1/3 of the way with water and freeze. Then add more water from a gallon jug the next day and take to the parks.

We had friends who stayed at All Stars and they said the refillable mugs were invaluable!
