Is there any chance of getting a GV at OKW at 7 month window.?
Looking at August 2021.
And assuming hoping things are back to normal.
BWV is home but lower point cost is tempting?
BTW is it easy to get a GV at BWV at 11 months?

There are only seven GV at BWV. If you are looking at August, it might not be too hard if you book at 11 months out. OKW GV has one bedroom upstairs with two double beds, not queen beds, because the room is kind of small. The bathroom for that room is also kind of small.

BWV GV's have generally been open at 11-months out except for a small number of times otherwise during the high demand fall season. They have always been open 11-months out for any time in August.

In the past OKW GV's (other than those in the near Hospitality House booking category) have usually been open at 7-months out the first two weeks of August, when the points are higher, but more of a 50/50 chance thereafter in August. The GV's in the near hospitality House booking category generally disappear at, or even before, 11-months out year round.

Do not know what impact (possible increase or decrease in demand) the Covid changes will have on the above patterns.

Before Covid, We had planned a family reunion for WDW the weekend of Labor Day (which has been can canceled). We booked a 3 bedroom at our home resort along with 3 or 4 studios at 11 months. At 7 months, we were able to switch to OKW with no problem. I don’t know if this is typical or not. My guess is that it depends on the time of year

I have a 100 point OKW contract we bought to get GV’s by banking and borrowing for larger friends and family trips. We wanted a GV for a Nov trip this year but did not bank any 19 points so we could only borrow. We booked at 11 months out for 4 of the 6 nights we needed. At 7 months out there were 3 days in that week available. Luckily the 2 days we needed were available and booked them with our other SSR points. HH GV’s go fast because I think there are just 2 of them.

I took my family this past January and got in at 7 months. We stayed Thursday through Tuesday. I had to waitlist the Monday but it came through about 60 days before our stay. It was really nice to have all of that room for 6 adults and a grandchild.
