Old DVC Smoking Rooms Question?

I had asked this question on the DVC board but was told it was a no-no. This must be a really hot button issue.

Is there an old map or list that would tell me what the smoking sections used to be? The reason I am asking is that we are traveling with a special needs child and can not make do with an old smoking room that may still have a faint smoke smell. I am concerned because I have read a few trip reports about getting a old smoking room and want to make sure I am prepared with room information when I check in. Thank you.

Disney did a really good job with the conversion from smoking to non... changing bed linens and drapery out, replacing or deep cleaning carpets, etc...but in reality it does take time to get the smell out of everything and a very sensetive person may still be affected by it even when the average person may not smell a thing!

I saw on the other thread that you will be at OKW is that correct? If so, the old smoking buildings were Bldg 12, 19, 25 and 41....

The reality is that any room could be contaminated with Smoke as some just smoke anyhow others were allowed to smoke on Balconies of non-smoking rooms.

The reason it was stopped on the DVC and might be here is because the smoking debates get heated and have a thread already going on the issue.

Even the CMs don't have a list of what was smoking rooms

I probably would just concentrate on really emphasising to Disney that your child is a special needs guest and cannot tolerate smoke. Unfortuantely I'mnoprince is right. Many guest have a "I paid a lot of money for this room, I can do what I want" attitude and smoke in their rooms. How many times in real life do you see people lighting up where they're not suppose to?

Good luck.
