Okay, so upcoming is my first DVC visit and my first time with an Owner's Locker. I have seen some very comprehensive lists here and on the OL site, but can anyone chime in with their top 5 items for a locker?

I know the obvious--sunscreen, water filtration pitcher, lanyards, but what are some of the less obvious OMG-that-is-such-a-good-idea items?

Thanks

Socks since October has an occasional cold day.
antiacids, cause yummy all the food.
Bottle opener for wine and beer!
My favorite movie that I can rewatch 1000 times
Bubble bath for the whirlpool tub ;)

We have full-size toiletries, laundry detergent, and dryer sheets. Much cheaper per ounce than buying the small sizes. We also have bath towels, tea bags, coffee singles, fitted sheets, hats, crocs, a power strip, full-size coffee mugs, two small first aid kits, big bottle of Tums, and Pepto Bismol. More than five items, but thought you'd want to know. :thumbsup2

I don't know if if these are the "top 5" but they are some that spring to mind:

Scissors
Coffee grinder & scoop
Inflatable bath pillow
Extra phone/iPhone charge cords
Apple Airport Express (wireless connection)

To other great suggestions add:

ziploc bags of various sizes
clothespins or chip clips
microwave popcorn
tape and sewing kit
toothbrush and toothpaste

I got these items for our locker after seeing them on someone else's list:

Toothbrush holder (I love not having to use a glass to hold my toothbrush!)
Small digital clock (so both DH and I can have a clock next to the bed)
Extension cord
Plastic hangers with pants clips (There are never enough hangers!)

I'd second the ziplocs in various sizes.
I also have phone numbers that I need when I am at Disney, such as the ones to order real pizza

Beyond that, I'm afraid to tell you how much stuff is in the locker...and I think that John is going to take off June 14th so he doesn't have to lift it out of the van when I arrive at BCV :lmao:

That made me remember that I now have a list of TV stations in my locker. There used to be a fairly complete stand-up list in the room, but our last few visits it had changed to mostly Disney channels. So I made one for ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Weather Channel, etc.

We will be using our OL next week for the first time. I mailed my box of things to myself at the resort so that it will be there when we arrive. We are fan sleepers, so we have a small fan in ours. I have heard of others having white noise machines in theirs as well. I also packed several of the smaller items in those plastic glad/ziploc containers so that I could use them for leftovers if we need them.

I've already starting buying things for my October trip:blush: I have the ziplocks and bandaids. But I love the idea of a small clock. I'll have to put that on my list to buy.

I love the idea of the TV channels list! I always keep one fitted sheet in both king and queen sizes, one of "MY" pillows, a hairbrush, hairspray, make-up, full size shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush/toothpaste, ziploc bags, foil, small fan and white noise machine, and many other things as well, but these are my favorites. OL makes it so much easier to travel to WDW!

If you take ME, chances are your OL will make it to your resort before your luggage. We keep our swim suits, crocs and robes. Hats, a fold-up shopping bag (large), 2 small carry umbrellas. Large black marker, packing tape and a box cutter. Light weight gore-tex jackets.

I know this is more than 5. I just get so excited knowing all my stuff is waiting on my arrival. :goodvibes

we always stay in studios that aren't quite as well equiped as other units so in our locker we have
2 sharp knives (a small and a large)
2 NICE wine glasses
I buy full size shampoo, toothpaste laundry detergent - GIN, CC, WINE (I make a point to find fair quality screw top wines)
DH leaves a pair of sneakers, I leave extra sandals and flip flops
an indoor outdoor thermometer
Extension cord (I keep meaning to bring a power strip and haven't managed to get that in there yet)
Many other assorted items and some clothes too

Power strip, extension cord, framed photo's of grandkids & kids, feather pillow, and keyboard for our laptops.

Great ideas here! We are new to DVC so haven't even made our first trip home yet. We did make a trip in December and we stocked our OL with many of the things that are being suggested here.

I wanted to leave some clothing there to reduce the number of items to pack.
I left some jeans, t-shirts, and shorts just to cut down on all the stuff we seem to pack just to stay a few days. Sure there will be things to throw in the suitcase when we fly, but the lighter the better! :earsboy:

We have pretty well filled our first locker and will be ordering our second locker for our June stay.

DH still wants to add: LARGE drinking glasses, some of our family matching T-shirts; sweatshirts for us all

I am sure there is more that will be sent, but those are a few we need to add.

One of my favorites that we have in ours - nightlights.

We put a Wi-Fi router and an electric toothbrush unit in ours plus full sized toiletries and a pair of walking shoes and swim suites that will always stay there.
We will be able to get by flying with a carry on and our laptops.

We have many of the things listed here as well....we will also be adding an inflatable fott bath for those aching feet! We are also bringing portable speakers for the ipod in case we want to listen to some music or the podcast show! Some other items are rain ponchos, the bag/backpack we use at Disney. Some trading pins, my Disney crocs.

I plan on getting an ol for our Nov. trip - would love to have 2 down pillows in there - but would they take up the whole locker? Also need to have a pur water pitcher and 2 large coffee mugs, ipod dock, 2 knives and toiletries - for those of you who have one - do you think all that would fit?
