OKW vs VWL

Any info on the transportation for OKW and VWL would be greatly appreciated as we will always be flying in and part of my vacation is not having to drive. Are the transportation systems sufficient without a rental car?

While I can't comment on OKW, we have stayed at VWL on numerous occasions, have never had a car, and have no issues whatsoever with transportation.

The OKW transportation system has been just fine. The buses were prompt and the boat ride to DTD is very pleasant.

In the past, the bus drivers have told very entertaining jokes. I haven't heard any jokes for quite a while. I miss that interaction with the bus drivers.

We have been going to Disney for about 13 years now, 2, 3 or 4 trips per year.
We have rented a car for 1 day during all those years to go over to NASA, The Disney Transportation system is operated very well, Like anything though once in awhile you may have just missed a bus and have to wait 15 - 20 minutes. While your waiting observe some of the beutiful landscapes Disney has created or just relax. (you'll need it) We are a family of 4, DS 9 and DD 7

Never waited more than 10-20 min for a bus at OKW. It can definitely be done without a car. OTOH, having a car at OKW is very convenient also because you can park right outside your door. We've done both.
