OKW vs. SSR

Ok, we have finally agreed that we are going to buy. We have two choices and it really will be what happens to come up by Jan.

We will try to buy a load contract at OKW for around $75 per point and if not, then we will go full price at SSR at the $86 per point.

I wanted to thank everyone for the questions the past two days and all the great advice on how to proceed.

Keep in mind that $75 for a loaded okw contract could be difficult to pass ROFR.

We went back and forth, but decided the extra 12 years at SSR was worth it to us. We like SSR, and like OKW also.

We have a timeline now, until Jan. If we don't have OKW at that point we will buy at SSR.

I agree with Carolina Traveler that trying to pass ROFR at $75/point at OKW is risky. Think how you will feel if, after waiting for a great loaded contract to come along, you lose it to Disney over a few hundred dollars. I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but you might be just a tad too optimistic about passing ROFR at that price point.

Also be aware that the $86/point special incentive at SSR is a limited-time offer. Keep an eye on the boards (and/or stay in touch with your guide) so that you don't lose out when Disney decides to pull the plug on it.
