I had booked a 2 bedroom for 7 nights for our family of three and my sister's family of four. Requested non-smoking, near hospitality house on first floor. My BIL checked us in (we arrived later). We were in room 2824. Our non-smoking request was met, Villa 2824 was off of Peninsular Rd so it was NEAR HH, we got a second floor which believe it or not was okay. Maybe a little noise a couple of nights from upstairs but nothing from downstairs.
Best vacation I have ever had with my Sister! I think she was behaving so we would invite them another time (not during hurricane season though
).
The parks were EMPTY the whole week. MK was beyond EMPTY on 9-3-04. We went to the parks pretty early (almost commando style). We were so tired and our feet hurt so bad that we came home late afternoon and usually did not return. The Jacuzzi felt good on the sore tootsie's!
Day 1: Tried to activate AP vouchers at MGM. We ended up having to go to Guest services because 2 out of 3 vouchers had not been activated. We had brought our original sales receipt so they had no problem getting our AP's activated. Took a while and we had a couple of forms to fill out. Only stayed for a couple of hours. DH had his Rookie Nascar Experience. DH got ready to drive and the Thunderstorms rolled right in. We had to reschedule for later in the week and chose MORNING and not the afternoon. Came home to eat a late lunch and then went back to MGM to watch FANTASMIC (magical as always).
Day 2: DD's special surprise was breakfast @ Cindy's Royal Table. Made the ressie before the park opened and we were able to get some very nice photos. Stayed at the MK for the day. I tried Space Mountain for the first time and LOVED IT! I am a ride baby and had decided I wouldn't like Space Mountain and I do!
We watched wishes from Mickey's Philharmagic. Very cool! You stand near the carousel while fireworks are directly above your head to the right and left of you! AWESOME!! If you haven't seen wishes from there please try it! Very magical!
Day 3: Animal Kingdom was nice. Too hot to see too many animals on the safari. The rapids felt good though!
Tried a couple of rides I thought I wouldn't like and again I loved them!
My Sis and BIL 19th Anniversary was spent at the Hoop Dee Doo Review. Very fun! My DD is still talking about twirling her napkin in the air! We are thinking about doing this again for a big family gathering in May. Price really isn't too bad when you figure it is dinner, show, drinks, tax & gratuity.
Day 4: BB for sister's family. DH had to drive a Nascar! The experience took about a half of a day! He loved the Rookie Driving Experience. He drove 122 mph and wants to drive faster next time!
We spent the rest of the day shopping in DTD.
Day 5: Epcot! DD finally finished all 13 kid cot areas! Yay! Went on Test Track a couple of times and I tried Mission Space. I am just trying it all!! You go girl! I liked MS and will try it again. I was so worked up about it that I don't think I felt the whole experience. We left before illuminations because we had to get travel plans finalized before Frances came knocking at the door. I am bound and determined to see illuminations at Christmas time.
Day 6: We knew would be our last day in the parks because of Frances. We got Sis and family moved from 2824 to a studio #1326. Second floor, non-smoking, and across from the HH. We specifically received this studio because it was ready to be moved into! This is where my sister's family stayed during the hurrricane.
Went to MK around 11:00 am and had ridden every ride at least once by 3:00 pm. MK was empty! All the carts were strapped down. When the counter service folks started closing up we decided it was time to leave too! I think the park remained open until 8 and there were restaurants still doing business. Great day other than the heat and humidity. My hair is naturally curly and I looked like a freakin poodle!
We had dinner from the Olivia's menu, but it was ordered at the gurgling suitcase. Apparently, Olivia's won't serve the lunch items at dinner time but you can order them from the gurgling suitcase and eat outside or take it home. We took it home because of the mosquitos!
The rest of the trip is more hurricane Frances related and was probably covered on my post from Saturday.
Magical time to visit WDW! Only draw backs were the heat/humidity (which we expected) and the hurricane (which we were hoping wouldn't find Florida).
LOVE OKW and can't wait to stay at SSR for our next trip. We rode on the new OKW ferry and it was VERY nice! SSR looks great!
Next trip I am thinking of tackling Rockin Roller Coaster
