OKW Transportation

Is OKW serviced as frequently as the the the other DVC resorts? My concern is our only option for transportation is bus, I know that the moderate resorts don't get as frequent service as the luxury resorts. is it the same here? Can We walk anywhere from OKW?

The bus service at OKW is fine, IMHO. The only time of day you will have a longer wait for a bus is mid-afternoon when the buses seem to run less frequently. My longest wait was 1/2 hour, but that is relatively rare. There is a boat that travels to DTD; it begins running at around noon till 7:00 p.m. or so (may be longer hours in busy seasons). Walking outside of the resort is not really recommended - there are no sidewalks and very busy highways. Walking around the resort is easy and recommended; I do it all the time. .

All of our stays at OKW have had great bus service-its just annoying to "have" to use the bus for all the parks IMHO. It stops 4 times either on the way out or back (lovely at night when the lights blast you) just like CBR and a few others. But bus service in itself has been great there for us.

Bus service has always been reasonable to/from OKW in my experience.

you got it mixed up - the luxury resorts get worst bus service than the moderate or values.

values get the best
then moderates
then deluxes

the deluxes have the monrail or boats also. to the parks closest to them.

but OKW has pretty nice transportation. the longest we waited was around 25 minutes trying to get back to the room from Epcot.

We had wonderful service at OKW on buses both in October 04 and in July 05 Never waited longer than 15 mins!

We just spent a couple of weeks at OKW, and found the bus service to be about the same as other DVC resorts. The transit time is a little longer since it has to make multiple stops within OKW either before or after you get picked up, but it's not all that long in the scheme of things.

I wouldn't worry about OKW bus service. Just leave yourself enough time to get to where you want to go...especially if you have PS at a park restaurant.

The boat to DTD ran like clockwork and was very reliable.

The bus service is fine. Runs everywhere about every 20 minutes. Once the bus returns to OKW it takes a bit longer than other resorts due to the size of the complex.

If you play theme park roulette, your bus wait time will be extremely short. We do this quite often.

Theme park roulette: you don't plan on a specific theme park, and just go to whatever park is the destination of the very first bus that arrives at your resort

We are here right now. Have never waited longer than 10 - 15 minutes for any bus. We have taken them all to each park and then the boat to DTD and back. The mornings are more crowded than other times for obvious reasons. We have never had to stand though. Coming home from the parks in the late afternoon we have usually been the only people on the bus. Feels like our own private stretch limo.
