OKW to Typhoon Lagoon - How far is it?

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me how far Typhoon Lagoon is from OKW? How long does it take to get there? Is it within walking distance?

It would not be a particularly easy walk, though distance wise it is probably not all that far. Depending on what part of OKW you start from, Typhoon Lagoon is 5-10 minutes drive away.

Thanks Doctor P, but I have one more question, is bus travel time 5-10 minutes also from hospitality house?

No, it will be a longer bus ride because you will take the Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon bus and that will need to go to Downtown Disney and make all the stops there before proceeding over to Typhoon Lagoon. If you allowed twenty minutes bus ride, plus the waiting time for the bus, I think you would be OK.

In the morning, the DD/TL bus usually stops at TL on it's way to DD. In the afternoon, the bus normally stops at TL after picking up at DD. This minimizes the time those in wet suits are on the bus.

It's a very simple ride to TL, but too far to walk. You can even see "Miss Tilly" (the shipwrecked boat atop TL) from many spots within OKW. The ride is usually no more than 5-10 minutes.

WDW is not very walking friendly and the roads from OKW to TL are multilane with heavy traffic. It's probably a 2 mile drive- but only about 1/2 mile if you could fly! I'd definitely drive or take the bus!

Thanks for the clarification, Doc. Not sure if it was because of the time of the year or the particular day, but when we went to TL on New Year's Day, we left the resort at about 10:00 am and the first stop was DD. We got off and shopped for a while, then caught the bus again at about noon at the DD Marketplace stop. We then went through the rest of DD and then on to TL. Perhaps that is not the way that things work when it is warmer out and there are more people going to TL (we were the only ones on the bus to TL and there weren't many people on the way back since it was rather cool out).
