OKW thoughts

We stayed at OKW last year and had a fantastic time, it is a fabulous location, totally in synch with a relaxing stay, despite being on site. It is a large resort but we were located right next to the Turtle Pond pool area so were able to get drinks refills there, I often walked down to Hospitality House just to take in the atmosphere/vibe of the place - it wasn't a particularly taxing walk.

We loved OKW and are booked again for this year.

It has a true tropical holiday feel.

Don't think i've ever seen a negative review by a UK visitor.

We also enjoyed turtle pond pool area and will be requesting that area again.

This summer will be our first on-site and at OKW.
Would appreciate folks suggestion for best locations for a family with 3 children ?

We struck lucky in terms of location, ideally we wanted to be near Hospitality House, though we understand they tend to be allocated first and foremost to DVC guests. When we booked the holiday, we specifically asked for an upper floor room which was our only request, we saw contradictory messages that you could fax/e-mail prior to arrival to make specific requests but we didn't bother.

I would definitely recommend the Turtle Pond area, it's the biggest pool away from the main pool at OKW, and has a counter serving hot/cold snacks and providing drinks refills throughout the day, it closes approx 5pm.

Sorry, don't think I've helped much, you could always give them a ring and see whether you strike lucky! I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time wherever you're located!

I agree being at OKW will be fantastic regardless of location.
However I know the troops will want to head to the refill station on their own, so being near by will make a lot of difference

If you do online check in you and request an area then - probably the best way to get the request looked at and hopefully honoured

We also stayed in the Turtle Pond area as well and liked it. I don't think I would want the buildings closer to HH as there is a lot more passing traffic.

Thanks for this I had not even considered on-line check in for OKW.
Have my todo list for flights etc and completely forgot about this.

Will need to spend a bit of time looking at the OKW map and info on on-line check in

We loved the turtle pond pool area.

The pool was large and seemed more relaxing then the main pool. There was also a small play park and snack bar where you could get drink refills.

It had a really friendly vibe - nice place to spend an hour or two in the afternoons.

Main pool has the slide but was busier.
