OKW studios?

We're (DH, DS9 and myself) trying to decide between a studio at OKW or SSR. I did a search on this board about OKW and---wow! lots of negative comments! Has anyone been there recently? What was your opinion?

Haven't stayed there in the past 2 years... But the last time we were there, it was great! Thinking of staying there on the trip after the next to try out the new slide. That was the one thing that was missing, now it has it all.

We just enjoyed a one-week vacation in an OKW studio. Loved it and loved OKW! Large room, beautiful, peaceful, laid-back atmosphere.

We love OKW room size, parking right outside your unit and the relaxed atmosphere. We own at BWV and recently added-on at OKW because we love it so much. There will always be isolated problems at all of the DVCs, but I think that it is wise to try every DVC resort at least once to judge for yourself.

OKW studios are nice. They are bigger than any of the other resort studios and they have a bigger porch/patio. We own at VWL, BCV, and BWV. I wanted to stay at OKW so much again for Memorial Day weekend that I went on a waitlist for OKW (just found out I got it today - yeah).

OKW feels like a charming little Florida neighborhood. Lots of palm trees, lush landscaping, and the walkways are made of crushed seashells - very pretty. Lots of gingerbread and pretty white porch railings. I LOVE it. Wish I owned a few points there, too.

If you really want to become spoiled, you should try the 1 bedroom at OKW. It's right at 1100 square feet.

We own at OKW,Beach Club and SSR and have stayed at BWV and WLV and although all are nice none are as good as OKW. All the positive things that are being said about OKW I endorse. We have had family vacations at multiple WDW resorts, but the ones at OKW have always been the best. Whatever it may be, the "neighborhood", the room size,the location; I don't know but OKW is special.

WE LOVE OKW! Particularly with 2 adults and 1 child, I would choose to stay there. If it were just Mom and Dad, I'd think about trying a studio at one of the other resorts, just because it's nice to have the pullout sofa for seating rather than the extra bed, but as long as you need the extra bed anyway, you can't beat OKW!

there was no thing that was definitely a surprise.

all the trees down....

the noise from the highway (which we NEVER even heard before) - was there - but even worst (my opinion). Okw is not longer behind trees - lots of it is right out in the open.

some people might like this - others liked the hidden resort....

I know in 10 years (or less) it will be again - but until then...

There's no place like home.....I'd stay at OKW any day any time. We purchased in 2000- I wanted boardwalk, DH wanted OKW....best decision we ever made was to go with OKW...28 days and counting....

depends upon you - the views are woods, golf, water. OKW has some very lovely water views.

Also you can ask to be near (not at) bus stop and/or pool.

some people like a higher floor - most building have 2 - some have 3. there is only 3 building with elevators 62, 63, 64.

I would select my favorite request and only ask for that one.
