OKW studio to avoid moving?

Hi. A friend of mine will be using our points for a June stay and I want to be sure I am offering her the best options. I have checked availability so it looks like they will either choose a one bedroom at OKW for Sunday to Friday and then move to a studio to save the weekend points (either OKW or another DVC location...yet to be determined) OR they may just opt for a studio for the whole time to avoid moving (biting the bullet for Friday night points). It is mom, dad and two teens (one boy, one girl). I think they would enjoy the 1 bedroom enough to compensate for the hassle of moving their last night, especially if they stay that last night onsite, but I am wondering what others might think. Obviously they will save money by staying in the studio the whole time but they are fine with the one bedroom cost...the question is really is it worth giving up the one bedroom space for five nights to avoid the hassle of moving for one night? Either way, there are ony two beds, unless they bring an air mattress. I assume the two teens will not be sleeping in the same bed, as they are a boy & girl.

A one bedroom is wonderful, but moving is also a pain. If they plan on eating/cooking in the room much, I'd go with a one bedroom. If not, I'd go with a studio. But there isn't much room in a OKW studio for an air mattress, though for one night it would probably be OK.

I think I'd be tempted to go for the entire reservation in a studio at a different resort, that has a bed sofa sleeper...if one teen can sleep on the un opened sofa, then that woul allow additional room for the air mattress.

Now, if the dad/son and mom/daughter are planning on sharing the beds, I'd go with an OKW studio, as they have 2 real queen beds.

We'll be at OKW for a week in June in a one bedroom. I wouldn't move to save the few points.

Thanks for the feedback...they decided to just book a studio at SSR. The OKW studio would have been my first choice for them because it is a little more spacious (plus I love OKW) but we did not want to take a chance with waitlisting middle of stay nights when there was no OKW studio availability. They are very excited even though they know they will not have tons of room to spread out. I am hoping the amenities of SSR will wow them. Their last stay was at Caribbean Beach.

Those kids will probably love SSR. The pool is incredible and being so close to DTD is nice too. My family of four which includes a teen boy and pre teen girl has done studios at SSR and while it wasn't as big as the one bedrooms we have enjoyed (obviously!) there was quite a bit of room. If they did CBR, they will do fine in a studio. They will have a balcony which also adds some space to hang out in.

As for moving, I realize they have made their decision and I think they made the right one. Due to using too many points this year we had the same dilemma. Could have moved to a studio at OKW for a few nights of our 15 night stay and the rest in a one bedroom. Just went with the studio the whole 15 nights. We are there only to sleep and as another poster pointed out, you have to bring an airbed anyway. I just want to get to my resort, unpack and not worry about moving again. Of course after 15 nights I may think differently, but I doubt it. We have done that long in standard hotel rooms on vacation without balconies and did fine. Heck when I was a kid we all five of us would squeeze into the smallest rooms and never thought twice about it, we were on vacation!

One more question since some of y'all mentioned Aero beds---I have used a double sized one in an OKW studio and it fit just fine. Is there room in the SSR studio for the Aero bed? Will it only fit if the sleeper sofa is not opened up? Many thanks! I know my friends will enjoy Saratoga and I just may have to try it myself sometime soon!

I got a twin sized aerobed in my SSR studio with the sofa bed opened (have a boy and girl) and it fit fine. As I recall we had to move the leather ottoman into the entry hallway to make this happen, there was plenty of room in that hallway. That way we could keep both aerobed and sofabed open during the day. The only way I think you could fit a double sized airbed into a studio at SSR would be if the sofa sleeper was closed. And you would have to move the ottoman like we did.

As you can see we also had to move the table a bit. I don't think a double would fit unless the sofa bed was not pulled out.
