We have three nights booked in March at OKW. Our home resort is BWV. Just wondering which location to request at OKW where the buses will work best......being the last bus out and the first bus back. Any info would be appreciated.

TIA

Last bus stop before departing for the parks is the Hospitality House stop. The first stop on theway back in is Peninsular Road. The vacation homes in these general areas are part of the "guaranteed" near Hospitality House booking category at OKW. Personally, we prefer the Old Turtle Pond and South Point areas, these are the 3rd and 2nd stops of the route, respectively.

Thanks Chuck. Can you tell me why you prefer the other two areas?
Thanks,

We prefer South Point and Turtle Pond as well, but Miller's Road isn't bad either. We just don't want anything right at the Hospitality House because of difficulty parking. There is limited parking at the HH, and people will park by the closest villas if the parking lot at the HH is full. South Point has nice views along the Trumbo Canal. And all of the villas have nice views of the water traps and the golf course.

We like to stay where the Peninsular Road bus stop is our stop because if we miss a bus coming in, we have time to walk up to Hospitality House and catch it there instead of having to wait for another bus.

But we like the set up of the higher-numbered villas (layout of bathrooms, etc.) so South Point and Turtle Pond work well for us for the villa.

FWIW, it takes about 15 minutes for the round-trip through OKW. So if you get on at the first stop, you'll ride about 15 minutes before going to the parks; if you get on at the last stop, you'll ride 15 minutes through OKW on the return trip.

Okay, so I'm guessing the best bet for this trip is going to be HH area. My daughter is going with some of her friends and will not have a car. I figure the area closest to the last bus out and first bus in, plus near Olivia's and the shop area will work best for them.

Thanks for your help.....

Remember that near HH is a booking category now, not just a request. Just like Boardwalk View/Preferred View and Standard view at BWV, it must be booked as part of the initial reservation. It doesn't require any more points, though, than any other area of OKW.

Did you specifically reserve HH area? If not, you probably won't get it. It's a bookable category.

I didn't know that, thanks. I don't really understand how, without charging more points per night, they can take it out of a request and put it into a booking category.....doesnt seem to make much sense, but okay, if that's the way it is, so be it.

It's like BWV. Preferred Boardwalk is the same number of points as Preferred (non-boardwalk), but two different areas(views) of the resort.

It started in 2008. While I don't understand the reasoning, I guess we can assume that a lot of people didn't get their near HH requests met and were upset at the front desk. Now they know at time of booking.
