OKW Slide- Artist renderings and model photos

Are there two chutes that empty into the pool? Or is one of them a waterfall feature? It's a little hard to tell on the screen.

To me, it looks like one chute.

It looks like a "kids and adults" slide, although the youngest OKW guests may need to grow into it first. In any case, it's impressive.

I had wondered what kind of design they would they would come up with to go with the Key West island theme. I guess the connection to the real Key West is that the island has sandy beaches on which someone could build a sand castle.

That does look good. OKW is not one of our home resorts (yet) but we have renewed interest in a stay there just because this of is. Thanks DOC.

Although I don't personally care about a slide (my resort home), I think this is a good thing for OKW and DVC in general. A slide at OKW will take some of the reservation pressure off the other resorts.

The drawings look tasteful. I know my kids will enjoy it.

Cool. Thanks.

Notice the Hidden Mickey in the upper left corner of the first rendering?

I noticed that too, Kathleena.

Thanks for posting, Doc.

I have no real interest in a slide, but I am glad to see they have kept with the theme of OKW, and it looks like it will fit in well. One question I have is about the sand play area. Does it look like they are incorporating it into the slide area?

This looks great!!!! I hope it is completed by the time we go down in December 2004

Ooh, I like it! Love the sand castle theme. Now OKW owners can boast biggest rooms and beautifully themed main pool slide.

Thanks SOOOOO much DOC for getting us this great info.

I think it looks great and am looking forward to a slide or two.

Awesome! I can't wait. Hope I can get in at 7 months!

ARGH!, is this going to make OKW difficult to get now?

YAHOO! FINALLY a slide at the best (and original!) DVC resort! (Can you tell I'm a bit biased!) Now we will have the biggest rooms for the least points, and a slide! It looks cool! Thanks for posting the pictures, Doc! Kathy:earsgirl:

They look the same as the ones I saw over President's Day weekend.

Great idea to take pictures.

Thanks,
and looking forward to our new slide.

Goldi.

I guess my only reservation is having a white slide. White is so hard to keep clean looking..... I would have used maybe a key west color like blue or turquose..?

Wow! First, thank you Doc for taking pictures for all of us to see. We love the slide; our new grandchildren will absolutely have a ball going down it. We were apprehensive at first, hoping that the slide wouldn't be built over the area by the Dolphins (where we usually sit by a table overlooking the canal), so we were thrilled to see it near the kiddie pool/sand area. Thanks again.

We are tickled pink!!!

Thanks so much for getting the info out to us so quickly!

The pictures look great!! I told DH and the girls the other day about the slide and they were a little disappointed it won't be ready for our summer trip, but they were excited!!

Now I will have to make sure to book 11 months out!!!!!

Does this slide come with a lifeguard?? Or 2???

NOt to start a debate, but will this raise our dues???

Thanks.............
