Maybe it's wishful thinking but I think the resale of 2042 contracts will keep in par with the other 2042 contracts.

I know most people think that the resale of NON-extended OKW cntracts will take a steep drop....but with Disney charging $96 for the 2057 contracts and that is most likely to go up every year(??? does the price go up as the years go down??).

For example 10 years from now in year 2017 Disney might be charging $106 (total guess) pp for OKW 2057 contracts (40 years left)....that breaks it out to $2.65 pp.

Resale OKW 2042's will still have 25 years left (that's still alot of years). What would people want to pay?? If you use the same calculation of $2.65 pp it will be $66.25 pp.
BUT just like small contracts get more per per point, it seems to me there might be the same type of "small premium" paid for 2042 OKW contracts...this is rather than the opposite (steep drop) happening.
Some people might be more comfortable with less years (and years of dues) to worry about.
Just like when I bought my 2042 OKW resale, I could have bought through Disney and paid more for 2057 contract an had 15 more years, but I was looking for a more affordable price point and I didn't really care about 50 years away.

Just a thought....hope this makes sense. I'm a new owner of OKW and have my first trip as DVC member tomorrow to BWV.

Your thoughts have crossed my mind as well. Cheaper OKW 2042 contracts may well be attractive for those who want to get in the door with less initial cost.
Have a great trip! I SO love BWV (and OKW!)

I think you'll see a very slight drop in OKW prices for a while, but only a few dollars. It will be so small that anyone who buys the extension and then sells their contract will have thrown at least $10 away.

But it really shouldn't affact 1942 OKW prices at all. You're getting the same thing today that you were last month, so the contract ought to be worth just as much.
