OKW refurb 2018

Hi, we have booked a one bedroom villa in OKW for August 2018 but have had conflicting reports about renovations there at that time. One travel agent said it was completely closed while another never mentioned it. We have now booked with Disney direct who also haven't mentioned anything to us but some websites are saying there will be work going on. I don't really want to end up in the middle of a building site. Also, Disney won't confirm our booking until 330 days out from our holiday start date. Is this normal? Can anyone give me some advice about where to look for what's really going to be happening in OKW please? (I have a feeling that the travel agents were just saying it was closed because they didn't have it on their books to sell ) Thank you in advance.

Nobody knows at this point. Everything on the DVC website has disappeared about an upcoming OKW renovation. In the past when they did renovations, they would close off a building or two (fence around them), so you don't even see the construction. They cannot close it because it isn't owned by Disney. It's owned by DVC members at least until Jan 31, 2042.
