OKW questions

We're staying onsite for the first time next August at OKW and would really appreciate help with a couple of questions (ok several).

We'll be staying the first night (Friday) on iDrive and checking in early on the Saturday. Will we just leave our bags with bell services, will they drop the bags at the villa or will we have to collect them when we get back to the resort?

Is DTD walkable and if not how often (and how long) is the water taxi and what time does it stop running?

Any park purchases will be sent to the resort, but where do we pick them up from?

Finally there are four of us the missus, me, and 2 DDs (22 and 16). Which is the best area of the resort to stay? We'll have a car, but don't want to be miles away from the pools and reception.

Finally (really this time). Some of us are smokers and the map states that there is a smoking area in front of each building, are there seats in these areas as we do like to relax first thing with an early morning nicotine and caffiene fix?

Thanks in advance

They have brought items like cribs and gates I have rented to the room, and I almost positive they will bring your bags...

11pm... You could walk to DTD but I think its about 1-1.5 miles. I plan on trying to use that path as a jogging route this Dec. However, I did read it is not lighted. There is also a bus if need be....

Hospitality House/Check in area...

I like the units behind the Peninsular Rd bus stop - however when you are booking request the "Hospitality House" booking category. We have enjoyed all the villas we have stayed at in this category. Heck, I have enjoyed our room locations through out OKW! However, this category will put you within easy walking distance of the main pool and HH. Here is a map of OKW.

Sorry can't help you there! Last time I went to Disney as a smoker (04) it was waaaay different.

Thanks in advance

Congress park section is the closest to DTD. Hospitality House section is near reception/concierge/main pool and spa. The boat ride to DTD usually runs 11:30-11:30 (give or take). It's about a 7-10 minute ride. Bell services will most likely bring your bags to your room however if they don't just call them from your room with your bell services tickets and room number and they will bring them right to you!

My experience at OKW has been that you must be in your room for your luggage to be delivered.

Boats run every half hour or fifteen minutes depending on the time of day, late morning to late evening.

Even if you're not right up by Hospitality House, almost any bus stops there last - so you can just hop a bus to get around the property. The Downtown Disney bus, I think, stops at HH both first and last - so you can use it to get back to your room.
Yes, there is a bench close to the ashtray at each building. Still, please smoke considerately ;).
