OKW old timers - I have a ? for you

We were in the hot air balloon photo in August 1994.

I remember our guide saying that the rule of thumb was 2 passes for each bedroom in the unit, so this agrees with the 2/2/4/6 numbers already mentioned.

So I guess we toured during the summer of '95 because we were not offered the passes.
Thanks for all your help!!! Now I'm trying to remember where we stayed that year, but I guess you can't help me with that one!!

EXCEPT during Hurricane Floyd in 1999. they let us in to AK with our passes.

We called the front desk that morning, when only AK was open, and they had us stop at the desk for comp tickets. Guess we didn't need to after all!

I think that day they would have let us in with Sea World passes. :)

LOL! We actually thought it was a great deal, since our freebie passes didn't cover DAK. We had only been there once before that.

It was interesting the day before also, seeing MK being "disassembled" and battened down for the storm.

We joined in February, 1992 (great prices.) and got the passes through 1999. Yes the number of passes depended upon the number of beds as well as the number of guests. You never got more passes than guests. The deal was for passes up to half of the stated occupancy.
We also have the hot air balloon photo and had the ice cream sundaes. Ummmmm. ::yes:: Ice cream mmmmmm
That disappeared when they moved to the current preview center at BWV. At yesterday's member update they mentioned that the ice cream parlor will be back at the new center at SSR bigger and better than ever the capacity is 50 people. Does that mean more visits to see my guide just to get ice cream?::yes:: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Aha! I knew it was what they put in the ice cream! Sales should skyrocket when they get that place open. ;)

Our hot air balloon photo was taken when we bought into DVC during October, 1994. It was taken at the "Commodore's House" at OKW. Looking back, VB was still a dream and none of the other resorts were even mentioned. DVC certainly doesn't live in the past, does it?

The other cool thing is that the free pass option belonged to the contract, not the purchaser. So buyers of OKW resales would get the park passes too, if the original contract had them.

We bought a resale in 1996 or maybe 1997 and enjoyed several years of free visits to the parks. And we paid a little more than half of what points cost now. Early buyers were really rewarded for taking a chance on DVC!
